I knew Chuck was something special when a metal head friend of mine turnt me on to Death in the late 90's. I'm not a metal guy but it's pretty obvious he was on a completely different level in terms of his musical thinking vs most other acts of his time. RIP Chuck, you set a high bar most guys will never exceed! Very timely thread, Dec 13th, you are a true fan @ZEEGLER . I hope Chuck is resting in green pastures near still waters where all the blessed saints are reposed.

I agree. A lot of people don't like the last Death album but I really like that one and the Control Denied album. Chuck was a BIG fan of the band Watchtower and you can hear the influence in their Control And Resistance album, for one example. My friend bought the album when it came out and it always reminds me of that winter of 89-90:
