Anyone know what sort of tone woods the cigar box is made from?

You'd never know that was a CBG if you did not see the video. If someone said that was a CS Strat into a Dumble clone, most people would have believed it. Tone really is in the fingers I geuss, and the Cubans!

If you want to know anything about CGB's, how to build them, etc. check out cigarboxnation.com.

If you want to get one, check out huntzmeyer.com. Check out his site, look at his builds, and read about how he builds them and you'll understand. He takes a lot of care and puts some thought into these. He also makes these and sends them free of charge to guys overseas in the military. Very cool guy.

Mine is a Huntz Meyer and is a 3 string tuned G-D-G. My next build will be an 4 string dobro in D. Very cool guitars to mess around with and get away from the normal 6 strings. They make you play differently and you come up with cool stuff. Cooler than any travel guitar!

I ran into an old high school buddy a couple months ago who I hadn't seen since the early 90's...he's building these things now. He just started a Facebook page and website:

I plan to get one soon. I was goofing off with a few of them and they're cool as hell...especially fun with an open tuning and a slide (and I'm a lousy slide player).

That MAD magazine one is pretty freaking cool!

I wonder what some of the cork-sniffers from The Gear Page think about this.

I was surprised at the price on that guys site. it looked like they were between 95 and 125. damn!!!!
