2 memorable AC/DC moments. I was at that 77 Towson, MD concert...fans getting beaten by security guards and Bon was all over the security guards. First Back in Black Tour, Humble Pie (very good) opening. I do not think I have ever heard a finer marshall tone since that. Back in the days of weed.

I have to laugh at people talking simplicity when it comes to AC/DC. As easy as it sounds there is nothing easy about it. it takes a lot of talent to pull their stuff off as crisp and clear and precise as they pull it off. That is not a normal style for me so I have a harder time playing it than I do something metal riff oriented. Nobody does what they do as good as they do. End of story.

Absolutely. There is tons of space that they utilize to their advantage. Lots of pockets left empty that create tension and add to the piece.

When people downplay AC/DC, or blues in general, I laugh. As a matter of fact, I know guys that can shred like crazy, and when it comes to improvising over the so called simple 12 bar blues, they are lost. They simply have no judgement of how to use space.

The 8th note comment really made me laugh though. Some unknown asshole behind a keyboard talking shit about a music legend.

Classic

I was lucky enough to see them with both Bon and early Johnson and I don't think I ever knew the bass players name. I do remember Yngwie opened for them on the latter and it was one of the best concerts I've been to.

I saw Yngwie open for AC/DC in 85 . I remember a friend saying "it's gonna end up being the Yngwie show". Angus proved that statement to be false , way false

Me too and I thought the same thing. Angus killed it!

Glad you got a chuckle! I can play 8th notes too!

Not much of a chuckle but okay. I actually like your playing. Your opinions however, are retarded.

At least your mindset doesn't affect your playing, it would be a shame to have your talent comprised like that. Just try to continue to keep the two separate and you should be fine.

I played in a AC/DC (Bon era) cover band in the late 90's, doing Malcolm's parts and it was fun to really dig in and isolate the two players as they often played uniquely different parts with different approaches. You can't just bash out the root chord you hear and have it sound the same. Same for the bass. There's a lot of songs where the bass is moving around off the tonic but they often mixed the bass more where you felt it rather than heard it.
