Thanks man.. It sounds terrific. It's not messy with the distorted amp and the OCD in front at all.

In the loop - delay is a clear repeat, sounds like it's beside your tone.
In front - delay is mangled by gain, the delay becomes part of your tone.

Yeah... So Lordriffenstein suggested one of those Ibanez Echomachines. I watched some Rackdoctor videos where he's using them (looks like in front of the amp) and it sounds great on the video. They're pretty cheap so I may give those a whirl.

They are nice sounding but they are built like a toy and they go for usually $100.00 or more. I have to say, the El Capistan really does sound great in front, I've been messing around with it for the last few days. I still like lead lines with delay post gain but for rhythms it sounds too cool.

I want you to, but can't bring myself to spend that much on a delay.

I think having an analog delay on the board and a digital in the loop is the way to go...two flavors is better than one. I would just leave the analog one on subtly most of the time and kick on the loop delay for solos.

Ya, but you have other amps with loops. Don't mess with that '71 anymore.

Yeah that's what I mean... I don't want to mod the SL. It's fine the way it is. Just needs some delay sometimes.
So I can do...
1) Wet/dry which is overkill
2) Delay upfront which I don't mind, but it needs to be the right delay I guess.

Try the Carbon Copy with the mix set lower...here it's set to 10:00, I'd normally set it below 9:00, it's pretty good that way.

How you like the OCD by the way? It's on my list as well... LOL!
I feel like such a gear-whore all of a sudden.

You can hear the OCD on this clip as well...I like it and it has a nice feel to it when rolling back the guitar's volume.

If you check out bootlegs from the late 70's early 80's with EVH and Rhoads that's how they did it....raunch!

that's the EVH Phase 90 set to script mode, I find the EVH mode is too much.

After years of delays, I'm done. El Capistan for the analog, echo vibe and the old BOSS DD-2 for pristine digital, those are it for me. The only other corksniff pedal I bought recently, arrived the other day was this WET Reverb pedal, very cool ambience and a no-brainer to use.

Hell yeah Joey!!! I liked the CC until I heard the El Capistan. That pedal is off the charts. Thre are a variety of pedals that I like on the digi side but 2 standouts are the Timefactor and dont laugh, but I really like the Guyatone MD3, that little pedal kicks ass!!!

yep...the battery compartment coulda been a little better, but considering the size of the thing, they sure crammed a hell of alotta good sounding delay in there...

they're pretty cheap though..maybe I'll get another eventually
