Yes the huge spaces the long head chassis provided makes it sound better. :lol: :LOL:

Don't know why the Youtube embed isn't working but here is a direct link:

Anyways I wanted to upload a clip of the IIC+ because so many are dialed in poorly and sound like crap on Youtube. My favorite IIC+ clip was Todd's member Superunknown.

Let me know what you think?

Big spaces in big chassis equal big tonez. :thumbsup: :lol: :LOL:

Edited to add wet and dry setup with excessive reverb:

Simul with EL34s or no?

Simul with NOS Sylvania 6L6GC STR415 and EL34 Winged C that Mesa found NOS for me when they serviced it. Also Chinese 12Ax7.

Have Mark mod it and it will be the only Mark Cameron modded one ever made!

What does the DRG stand for?

Just a reminder we are going to be posting a bunch more awesome rare one of a kind gear videos but we need a 1000 subscribers to get us there. I even have tried to convince Mark Cameron to do a live or just prerecorded video of amp mods and maintenance but either way we need to get to a 1000 subscribers to get monetized and make things happen. :thumbsup:

Till then you guys can watch the "Guitologist" amp "repairs" and gear videos. :lol: :LOL:

:doh:

This amp sounds amazing stock, Mark won't mod valuable or rare historic amps on principle as well. Sometimes he will "tweak" them. Since not all amps are equal sometimes a small or slight tweak to give them the edge over the other is ok especially since they are easily reversible. Also we have had and looked at a few IIC+s over the years and not all are exactly the same some have been or have small "tweaks" by Mike B in them. This is why you get a huge variation in lots of Mesas that are the same model.

Also this one was sent to Neal Schon of Journey and I believe was slightly tweaked for him.

Let's just say this amp in the clips is "stock" but you guys may soon hear a clip of this amp "tweaked" soon enough and let's not forget profiles are coming as well.

Also google or maybe some can explain the Mesa letter codes like SRG, DRG and XDRG. I'm too lazy to type all that out. :lol: :LOL:

Sounds just down and dirty, nasty. Awesome stuff. What guitar, pickup are you using for this?

I thought it sounded like a bit of EL34 mids in there! Upper mids that compress so nicely.

D=Simulclass(75w switching to 15w I believe, choose all 6L6 or 2 6L6 and 2 EL34)
R=Reverb
G=GEQ
S=Sixty watts
H=Hundred watts
K=Coliseum 180w
X=Export Transformer. Has a dial on the back that will let you dial in any voltage option you need worldwide.

On the side of the chassis you can usually find these letters in marker identifying the options of the amp.

This is the first time I've heard a mesa and wanted it. Excellent knob turning lol.

It was driving me nuts all the IIC+ clips that just didn't sound right. I didn't want to say bad but most people really don't know how to dial in a Mesa for a proper tone.

Glad you like it.

FYI on the tubes they are STR415 and STR442.

Mike B actually recommended Winged C over EL34 Siemens tubes which they had in stock also.

That settles it then. We are profiling it later this week. Now this is a SPAM thread. :lol: :LOL:
