very cool, that Rhodes sounds impressive. VH4, Rhodes, Herbert would be my order of preference from the clips, but they all sounded great.

so honestly, is it "that" good that it could replace one of the amps in your arsenal?

Easily, and most likely will.
haha, dammit, I really don't need more amp gas.

One of the biggest differences I hear is that the Rhodes is more open and covers more range of frequencies than the Diezels do. After listening to the clips a few times the Herbert had a closer low end to the Colossus. The Colossus has a deep and expansive 3D sound to it! I can definitely hear how the distortion carries further across the sound spectrum. People may like that or not, but the sound is much wider.

I would go Colossus, Herbert, Vh4.

I think the Hagan and the Colossus would be a great heavyweight battle!

I'm thinking ol' Pete may be on to something with that Hagen. Can't wait to check it out in person.

i liked the vh4 the best and then the herbert, the rhodes was last for me, i liked the diezels better.

I liked the Rhodes the best. It's got that raw, open high end that I like. I tend to like brighter amps, I've noticed.

Although I am a Huge Diezel fan I must say that the Rhodes was the best amp, followed closely by the Herbert. I didn't like the VH4 so much in THIS clip...

Should have been a blind test. Would have been interesting to hear peoples guesses.

Herbert > Rhodes > VH4

Don't think I loved any of them. I'll take the IIC+ please.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! It's interesting to hear the tonal differences between what I'm doing and others. Many thanks to Clint for putting the amp through its paces.

As you all may or may not know, Clint checking out the amp spawned from the thread a while back comparing a CCV to a Herbert, and I offered to throw my amp in the mix. Unfortunatley, he doesn't have his new CCV yet so he couldn't do any direct comparisons now... If he pulls the trigger on one, count on some more clips down the road!

If anyone else is up for jamming on the amp, let me know. It will be ready to leave again in a couple weeks for another round of tours.
