thanks Dan. ya know the thing about the these pickups is that people seem to think they're only good for shred/neoclassical high gain..and they certainly are...but i do like the voicing when playing in this vein for some reason. : )

Oh man the HS-3 and YJM pickups sound great for most styles! I love the tones that those pickups can do, especially thru a nice cranked amp!

Well fuck that tone is right up my alley! :D

Very nice. Some of my neck tones on my album are lot more dirty than that because I was using my PPIMV and Im not sure Im too happy with them. I might record them with the PPIMV turned all the way up and out of the circuit so I get more of the clean sound you've got going on here.

Did you bridge the channels on this clip?

cool bro. I used a master volume jmp 50w on this not my nmv one. Its just power tube distortion really cranked with a hot plate on 4 db. To be honest, i don't use the PPIMV in my 74' head anymore, i still prefer a variac for some reason for volume taming. the pickups are VERY clean and low output so u really have to hit it hard to get them to stand out, u know what i mean.

Yeah, so far I much prefer one of my attenuators to any of the ppimv's I've tried. I'm getting ready to try #3, but I'm sure glad I got the attenuators!

yep, and I'm not a real huge fan of hot plates, but i feel i loose the "ummph" when i run through that PPIMV circuit...could just be my ears getting fatique though. Is there a big difference between the ultimate attenuator vs. the hot plate? im curious..
