Coming home, the JCM 800

I love my high gain channel switchers, but a good JCM 800 with a boost is one of my personal "foundation" tones.

Fired up the 2204 today, of course boosted. Today used a Fulltone OCD and a Boss EQ, explosive sounding lol...

Love the double boost for my 800 as well... I usually ride just one for rythm and then goose it again for the leads. John Norum style! (before his 2205's) I've never really been able to get the gain i wanted with just one OD for leads as I like to keep the gain down on my overdrives.

Sounds like there is a slight mid bump from the EQ. Frown EQ?

That's exactly what I use..OCD and a Danelectro EQ pedal...great combination.

did some priest cover on original track from a live show... sound awesome!!!
this 800 are just machines!

i saw some of you guys run a 800 KK sig, how it compare to the reissued 800 and the 86 era of 2203\4\5 ?

Sounds great Tom! My favorite clips of yours are using the jcm800, such a killer grind you get out of that machine.

Would also be interested to hear the 800kk vs stock comparison.

I love me some boosted JCM800 tone! My RK100 (with attenuation switched off) is dead-nuts Marshall 2204, but it's more Super Bass than Super Lead.

Thanks Zack, I wanted to show what cab it was running through but it wasn't in the camera shot so I added the photo of the cab.

Thanks, I think every amp I get I try to inherently dial in a similar sound to the boosted 800.
