These things suck. Sure, they make slight improvements to high E and B strings, but they absolutely worsened things on my Schecter's low E and A. Even with a precision Peterson Strobe HD they wouldn't intonate properly whatsoever. I'm having a new tusq nut made and the Ernie Ball Compensated nut is going in the garbage. Never again.

FWIW, it came stock on my Solo II Custom. Other than that, wonderful guitar!

I am at the point where I order a blank at cut my own. I am not perfect, that is for damn sure and it takes some work, time, and typically frustration but I get what I feel are the best results. The trick to it is to base your work on the original loosely then file to optimize for performance.

I just have my Guy cut me one out of bone. His Nuts are Perfect. :D

When I started cutting nuts, half would end up in the trash. Now I have had a lot of good results with most. The tools are the expensive part.

The compensated nut on my EB Luke II works great actually so maybe yours was installed wrong. You don't seem to have he best of luck with guitars though...

It's factory installed, but even the luthier said they're junk. I had a new one hand cut and made for it.
