Condo or Crib?

You cats have a crib or condo?

I'd love a condo, because of the lack of maintenance, but I don't do well with rules.
Those of you with condos, how do you deal with the people problem?

Maybe just buy a crib and don't give a fuck about it falling apart? Like a lot of the people I know. I'm a fixer, but hate fixing shit. But hate shit being broken all the time too. It's a no win. I wish I was one of those guys that couldn't give a fuck. You know the guys that can't even put a brad in the wall to hang a picture.

Need to make a decision here. I got one more year where I am then I'm out of MA.

My house was built in 07. already starting to need work

i cant deal with the condo gate guards or the rules

my mom has a condo and had to get permission to paint the fucking garage door

everything all the same colors. looks like army barracks

then any contractors have to be on an approved list or get vetted. this is probably not a bad thing but takes up a lot of time

Crib. Equity is my favorite aspect of it. Maintenance is my least favorite.

I would highly advise against a condo for recurring fees and costs plus rules. Plus you got the know how and tools so you need a garage so.....What you want is at least ten acres, more, really, with a small easy to maintain, low energy draw main cabin with perhaps a small guest cabin nearby. Low taxes, low maintenance. If you only get five or ten acres, I promise you'll be wishing it had been 20-40-60-80-100-120. How much can you afford? Speaking from experience. Get the biggest property you can afford with the smallest home your wife will tolerate on it. Please send me a postcard when you get there brother.

Yeah man, I already know a condo aint for me. I want the fuck away from people. My neighbors don't bother me, but the feeling of claustrophobia is getting to me. Want to head south. No idea how much money I'll have. In a year when I sell, I guarantee my 600k house will be worth 200k, so who knows. But you're thinking of what I'm thinking. Large amount of land with a small house. I'd love to go to Florda, but that's probably too overpopulated now. Southern TN. Who knows, but wherever I go, I don't want to see a single snow flake. Done with snow.

I work for a condo complex, and the management company vets the people that work there, then hire their own people who completely screw everything up. Then they pay me to fix it. But the place looks like something out of a horrow show. You feel trapped when you're there. Yeah, I had enough of rules from being X military.
