What's your favorite low-wattage amp (15-40 watts ball park) that you prefer for a warm clean that take pedals great and a pretty good gain channel?

I always answer this the same. Blues Junior hands down the easiest choice. Cheap durable and easily replaced. Mine sounds great with a Mosferatu and AC booster in front.

I got to go with those old silver faced fender princetons. The ones that had vibrato but no reverb weren't too expensive on the used market a few years ago. I don't know what they sell for these days.

Dr Z takes pedals great. They have a good selection from 8-40 watts. Great cleans. You could always turn or of those Fender combos into a head too.

I really want to check out the Ampeg GVT series for this as I hear they have alot of clean headroom for the low wattage.

The VHT (not Fryette) Special 6 and 12/20 are supposedly designed as pedal platforms.

For more money.......the Dr Z M12

Peavey Classic 30 and it does come in head form. :)

I myself am not much of a Fender blues junior fan, they generally sound small and boxy to me. I haven't tried the newest version though.

Bumping for more head suggestions (had a Dr Z Carmen Ghia years ago for this, shoulda kept it  ).

Probably not what you're looking for but I have settled down with a mesa mark V. Takes pedals well at any wattage but to speak directly about your post-I really enjoy the ability to turn it down to 10 watts and use pedals to get some pretty good tones at low levels later in the night.
