Corgan interviews Stephen Pearcy

I have to admit, I was surprised to learn in the Steve Vai interview that Corgan was a hair-metal and shred fan in the 80s. I didn't expect that. It's especially interesting given that his band was part of the anti-hair metal revolution in the early 90s.

Good interview.
Few observations: BC closing his eyes for long periods of time while talking is an odd trait.
I got about 30 more mins to watch. Stephen Pearcey SP looks like a version of Paul Stanley (PS). Also I can’t imagine wearing all that jewelry.

BC Looks anti-hair to me. Just sayin’

So Pearcy was the proverbial rat in a cage Corgan was wining about this whole time?

Despite all my rage, Stephan Pearcy's face is still much darker than beige
Despite all my rage, Stephan Pearcy's face is still much darker than beige
Everyone will say, "What was spent on plastic surgery should have been saved"
Despite all my rage, Stephan Pearcy's face is still much darker than beige

(Just a little bit more)

"Ratt With Crusty Leather Wings"

He looks like a vampire, pretty insane
Face destroyer, surgeries are to blame
And what does he get for his pain?
Fading stardom and a piece of fame

Even though he knows, he insists to show
All his crust and folds, with drooping ear lobes

Despite all my rage, Stephan Pearcy's face is still much darker than beige
Despite all my rage, his face is still showing so much age
Everyone will say, "What was spent on plastic surgery should have been saved"
Despite all my rage, Stephan Pearcy's face is still much darker than beige

I saw an interview where Corgan spoke highly of Mercyful Fate. Good taste!

What's the saying? As you get older you like what your Grandma liked, not what your parents liked? Hair-metal would have been too close to him for that to be the influence that he put into his own music. So he (and a lot of the '90s bands) copied elements of the '70s not the '80s.

Although if you listen to something like Today it could have easily been a pop metal track.
