About a month ago, I finally made the leap and bought a VH4 after much debate between that and the Herbert...
I couldn't be happy. The amp has such a great tone and you can tell it has power...pure balls. The clean channel is fantastic (can't believe some people complain about it!), the crunch is a great Marshall esque sound, and the overdrive channels need NO explanation.
No surprise here, but the Diezel head sounds BEST on my Diezel 2x12 rearloaded cabinet. I tried it on both a Marshall 1960A and a Marshall handwired cab...both 4x12. To my surprise, the 2x12 sounds JUST as big and overall tighter and thicker.
I played it live for the first time in a big outdoor festival type gig the other week - the VH4 cuts through! I had many people come up to me after the gig and ask about the amp..."Dude, what is that amp, I've never seen one but it sounds sick!"...or..."I've never heard a Diezel before, OMG!"
I must point out, that I live in Montana, one of the smallest states in the US, so chances are this might be the only Diezel around here
Cheers!
