I’ll start with the P90. I love P90’s and play my LP Jr more than any guitar. I really liked the stock pup but found it a little hot and messy with high gain. Ran a bunch of pups through there over last few years (all boutique winders). Saw Gibson now has an under wound A3 P90 (7.2k). Went for it and it’s everything I’ve been looking for…….albeit a lot of $$$ later. It will never come out.
Now the odd one. I have a single hum strat that I’m always tinkering with. Single volume, no tone, and easy to swap/test pickups. Most recently, it had a Wagner/WCR Murkat. Before that it has had over 20 pups.
Got reading about the old Mighty Mites and then checked out their current website. Read a few descriptions and ordered a 16k Motherbucker on a whim. Came in box saying “Made in USA by Seymour Duncan”. This thing honestly sounds like a perfected JB. I had a trembucker JB in the guitar at one point and didn’t bond with it. However, this Motherbucker is regular spaced. I’m wondering if it’s just a JB and the improvements I’m hearing are wide vs standard spaced variances???
