Got this reply, and for some reason, I remember getting the exact same response some other time, and when I replied, I did not hear anything further. So wondering if it is an email gathering scam or something. anyone else see a response to a listing like this before?

Sounds like a Scam to me.
Red flag went up...

But if he is legit....and speach disabled.....at least he wont try to haggle you.....

Thats one of the reasons I dont list stuff on Craigslist.

I would be so god damned pissed if that happened.........
Especially taking the time to meet.....dragging the item....wasting time....

I had a guy try that crap with me the other day. I just walked away. He suddenly found they other money. I usually setup a meet near where I work. There is a Starbucks a 100 yards away. If they dick around I just go back to my desk. I had one show up with two 20's and a 100.00 bill for a $50 item. He wanted to just give me the two $20's. I told him to go get change.

Usually if I am selling on CL then I have a pretty generous price tag to begin with. If people can't pay I walk away.

Ive had some great luck CL i the past, Ive sold tons of stuff that way, no ebay fees or paypal fees, problem is weeding thru all the BS Scams... its so time consuming.

yeah I have had mostly decent luck on craigslist, though have only parted with minor items. but I often get spam email for weeks after I post a listing. so annoying.

I agree CL should really crank down on that. Ive sold a few guitars/basses, pedals, amps etc nothing over $700, but when you find the right buyer its smooth, had to start a sepereate email account just for CL tho cuz my regular email got too flooded with crap

I always get the "I am inquiring about ITEM and need ITEM as soon as possible" e-mails, but so far 95% of my dealings on CL have been with decent people.
Getting a ton of scam e-mail and dealing with the occasional wackjob is just the price you pay for having a free listing service.

Got the same one this morning, as I have an Ibanez Prestige & 6505+ on there. I KNEW the guy was a scammer.

Personally, I've had it with all the dickwads I deal with on CL. 50% are scam emails, 48% are douchebags/lowballers, and 2% are serious, THEN lowball you. I've absolutely had it with CL. I'm ready to pay fees, and go back to ebay. I had a guy yesterday interested in the 6505+, (he was 60 miles away - my fault apparently), and he was asking me to knock off another $25 for GAS MONEY. This guy was a real piece of work.
