id pay him $1200 and tell him to ship it without the tubes :D

I know, he must have retubed with Mullards, real Mullard. He should have just got some RFT "mesa labeled", only 300$ a quad in comparison to Mullards they are cheap. If he did retube with Mullard though, OH MY GOD, it must sound awesome. I've had real mullards in a 2204 and they were the shit, xf4 single getters damn they sounded good. My friend had my amp in his van and he broadsided another car so my amp slid forward and slammed, my mullards got damaged, When I fired it up it was popping all over the place, bummer.

If you honestly spent that kinda money on tubes wouldn't you at least advertise what great tubes you spent so much on? I smell BS.

ya i agree, why spend that kind of money on tubes just to jack the for sale price of the amplifier making it harder to sell.

IMHO he's found a girl he wants to impress with a shiney new bike. raise the price of the marshall as high as possible to get as close to the $6,000 mark that a bike costs.

Local deal out here on Oahu, caught my eye.
2000 for a hacked 74 in this economy is insanity...you can find 72s not hacked for 1400 again.

Exactly...

A clean unmolested '72 would have a hard time bringing $2k right now.

I want one more pre '73 superlead, but it has to be stock.

Yeah, when I wrote the word deal, I already knew that was expensive. Local sale on Oahu is what I meant to type. The Robbin Crosby connection is what made it seem a little interesting. Although I'm sure there is know way to verify that or he would have mentioned it. If it was me and I put some awesome tubes in it, I would pull them and put new production in there. Might be a really cool amp, but not for 2000$, and never heard of Joe Morgan until seeing this ad.

I bought a super clean 74 Super Lead for $1,100.00 2 months ago.
And before that I picked up a 79 JMP with a white head shell just like the one Randy Roads played
for $700.00. He's delusional.

Your right , my 74 has a the Levant headshell.
the large style marshall logo along with the non levant tolex is a dead giveaway that its gotta be at least 77, 79 started stamping the serial number on front panel. I would imagine that amps would be more expensive in hawaii due to rarity and shipping them there etc, but u guys are right about the fact that prices for old jmp's has come down again somewhat.

There are actually plenty of Marshalls in HI, you see them used in the shops pretty often. I was thinking the same thing about the large logo.

a modded 74 is not worth 2k (unless your willing to pay it) What tone you lookin for?

but

guys, come on

it's before he PAST away.

i bet this guy uses then in place of than too.

If Joe Morgan worked on it, probably pretty damn good. Most likely traditional marshall tone on the hot side. If this was Cameron some fool would have already bought it.
