I've got the Petrucci 7-string set coming in the mail today, so I'm looking for opinions on which way to install them. The guitar that they're going in is 12lbs of mahogany, so I need the bridge pickup to be bright, tight, and percussive to balance out the fatness of the wood. If I can, I'd also like to get as much output as possible, so that I don't have to completely re-dial my amp when I switch from my guitar with 707s.

So which way do you guys think would work best - Liquifire or Crunch Lab in the bridge?

I could be wrong, but I believe the Crunch Lab is a bridge pickup, and the liquifire is the corresponding neck pickup in the set.

Do you mean Crunch Lab or Drop Sonic?

Nope, you're right :D

I think the question is usually which way the bar faces, the neck or bridge. Dimarzio's website has the pro's and cons of each.

No, the Crunch Lab is a bridge pickup, but the LiquiFire is listed as being a neck OR bridge pickup.
I was wondering if anyone had experience with both pickups in the bridge position, and could give me a breakdown of how they compare.

If it sounds like the LiquiFire will be a better fit for me in the bridge, I've got other pickups I can throw in the neck position.

My thinking is that the LiquiFire has stronger mids and less bass, making it better for tight high gain applications.
