I see these listings almost every time I check Reverb in the late evening now and I've been wondering how the scammers actually pull this off. Thieves are the worst.

Is it irony that I got a Reverb ad while watching the video?

With all the scams, sellers who couldn't pack a roll o bubble wrap to arrive safely, and still ridiculously high prices buying from Reverb is complete crap now-a-days.
I'd much rather buy from a trusted member here.

Lol, they are everywhere..

Saw a Tyler BW for $1475 last night, put it in my shopping cart, it was gone by morning, listing was pulled...

I think I had someone try and scam me on reverb the other day, but I'm not sure. The first thing I noticed was that he made an offer of the asking price. why would someone do that instead of just clicking the Buy it Now?

Then he had a general "Continental US" address and no feedback, so those were what sealed the deal.

but the offer thing was very strange to me.

Did they send you an email address to reply to? I've gotten that several times. I ignore them.

I've had someone put in an offer at buy it now price multiple times within 5 minutes of listing. Not sure what the deal is on that scam. The email one happens all the time and just happened to be on a 5+ year old account on TGP.

Actually now that I look back on the offer there was something in there about texting him at some phone number. But it was written as all one word like. Txtme5557893526

Yes. When it’s time to thin my gear, I’m selling to members right here.

Likely looking to circumvent Reverb on the transaction to avoid fees to the seller (and a 1099), and taxes to buyer. The one word thing is to try to get around Reverb’s monitoring system looking for email / phone # formatted info in DM’s.
