what is your good word on these bad boys?

my friend who has a dual hummy semi hollow ibanez fusiony guitar wants something to bring the rock.

current pickups are rubber steak spoons. zero teeth and slow like molassas.

she uses an egnater rebel head into a EV 2x12 and a big pedalboard.
she loves robben ford and ej

what you got?

ps i FINALLY installed the mojave into my tyler

i may be slow but 'least i do poor work.

I was thinking about one of your posts the other day regarding vintage Roland synth stuff and you listed players involved during those crazy times where guys were being overloaded with new technology and damn Pat you left out one of the founding fathers to embrace 8 bit prog............................Andy Summers

Building a Andy Summers tele now that is dripping with mojo, pull out the smoking jacket and settle by the fire thread happening soon.

i better smell rich mahogany and turkish turbins adorned with a gold scarab beetle broach sporting rubies for eyes when all is said and done

--and michael schenker-

dang keep forgetting....

had to be there. :D

My good word on the Arcane pickups is they are the best boutique pickups I have ever tried. I went through all the boutique stuff and then gave up and just went back to Duncans. But I had a sales rep come in and lend me a Brownbucker and I installed it in my white Charvel So Cal and it just destroyed the Duncan '78 (EVH) that was in there. I have Brownbuckers in a few of my guitars now. I also have a set of '69 Experience pickups in my strat and they are the sweetest, most vintage stratty, pickups I have ever tried. they make my Warmoth strat sound better than my vintage '66 strat.

As for your friend, I would suggest a set of Triple Clones. They are an extremely accurate sounding version of a PAF and I have a pair of them due in soon that have nickel covers. Another cool thing about Arcanes is that they are priced in between Duncan/DiMarzios and most typical boutique pickup makers. The funny thing is that Rob from Arcane has a pedigree that most boutique pickup winders can only dream of. The guy worked with Tom Holmes. He also designed all the James Tyler pickups and built the first 500 of them before passing off his design to someone who could wind them faster. He builds all the pickups for the Trussart guitars too. And with him being located in LA, he is always working with top notch pros with ridiculous vintage guitar collections and working on their guitars. I'm talking about the top names in rock are using Rob for all kinds of restoration work on the most bitchin' vintage stuff out there.

I was the first dealer in the world for the Arcane pickups. As soon as I heard that Brownbucker in my Charvel and listened to a comparison clip I recorded with that vs. the '78, I wanted in.

preach brotha preach!

i saw a pile of those at your shop and figured you were going to have a pretty good report on them. that john Z cat over at huge racks swears by arcane as well. he was the first guy i remember mentioning those pickups he loaded in a skermetta paul, and boy can play.

i'll send her your way!
