Does Charvel use the German-made Original Floyd Rose on their custom shop guitars?

How about the DeMartini sig guitars?

The american Jacksons sure do, both the production models and the customs, and I imagine the same for Charvel customs.

I'm asking cos' I recently found out that the Washburn N4's, be it the CV, Padauk or Vintage, all use the 1000 Series Korean made Floyd. Only the Authentic model uses a German Floyd.

Seriously??? 3k and still no German Floyd??? Fuck that!

Charvel CS have German OFRs. The "Pro Mods" do not. I'm fairly certain the DeMartini has German as well.

Yeah I know the Pro-Mods don't. But hey, they don't cost 3k ;)

It's good to know that Charvel CS uses the German Floyd and not the Korean ones.

I'm hoping that Curt will chime in on the DeMartini sig.

Yes German on the custom shops and German on the DeMartini.

Washburn should be ashamed to put that trem on a $3k guitar. It's a good trem, but in the OEM purchasing scheme of things, it's not that much cheaper than a German Floyd.

Thanks for chiming in, Curt!

Needless to say, Washburn will not be getting anymore of my money.

On a side note, has the Charvel CS started taking orders yet?

Yeah, CS Charvels and USA made Jackson all have 'proper' Floyds. The only 'US' Charvels that I can think of that didn't were the So-Cals. There have been plenty of US Jacksons with Floyd derivatives though (JT6, then Schaller, then another (JT580?) on the SL2, DR2 and RR2).

Never mind Washburn though, what blows my mind is that the Gibson CUSTOM SHOP Axcess uses the korean Floyd. On a guitar that price and they scrimp on a fundamental piece of hardware? WTF is that about?

Unless I'm missing something, they've never stopped taking custom orders, at least since the brand restarted in 2006 or so.

I was kind of interested in the CV but you're right, no german Floyd for that kind of cash? No deal.....I'll be looking Jackson/Charvel custom shop instead

Exactly. I contacted Floyd Rose and they told me that the materials used are the same, however, the craftsmanship on the German Floyd is of a much higher quality than the Korean counterpart.

I'm looking to order a CS Charvel this year and when I last contacted Curt sometime in August, he told me that they've stopped taking orders for the time being cos' they've been backlogged ever since winter NAMM.

Oh really, I didn't know that. Are you referring to Kurt at the factory or someone else?

Curt aka Chubtone on the forum.

He owns Squid Music. He's THE go-to-guy for anything Charvel.
