i am just throwing this out there, but i noticed a luxxtone guitar that looked freakin killer. maybe he could build what i am after ... anyone have any reviews/thoughts on his guitar builds ?

The Luxxtone's I've tried have been great!

Super resonant, and sound awesome. I'd have already grabbed one, but I need to sit down with Jerry, and have him copy (or close) my favorite neck :D

FWIW- to me, Luxxtone has the old Charvel thing down...not sure they do the flame maple, trans finishes, but definitely PM Shark Diver, or call TM... they'll fill you in, for sure

What Josh said. I have played them all, but the Luxxtone will give you instant gratification. I am really not a Floyd sort of guy, but with the set up Jerry does, and the comfort of the neck, they just put a lot of the others to shame....to me. That's just me though and I guess you have to like the finish options Jerry has right now vs. a fancy production model product. They are all good, but I would take a Luxxtone any day.

So the Anderson honeymoon is over for you? :poke: ;)

I absolutely love my Anderson and I'm currently planning another.
Best guitar I've ever played or owned and I've had them all.
I will say that Anderson and Suhr gave fantastic customer service

You just need to play both to help make you're decision. Like most, I think both are great.....but, I'm definitely a Suhr fan myself.

It's gratifying when people care enough to ask.....

You didn't specify 22 or 24 fret. I don't think Anderson offers 24 fret. He didn't use to, but maybe he does now?

I wouldn't doubt it. Have you seen mine I have for sale? I am an idiot. No guitar plays and resonates like this one.

There you have it folks. Tom Anderson Guitars: "pretty to play"... :D

He doesn't make 24 frets and don't believe he will in the foreseeable future.

i would be looking for a 22 fret guitar. i have no need for the extra two frets anyways. i actually pm'd luxxtone about building me what i want, and i think he will be able to get the closest to what i am looking for and has the most reasonable pricing. as of right now once i get ready to have the guitar done, i think he is going to be the guy to do it.

thanks for all the info !

Hard to go wrong with either of those though seriously....BUT...
if you knick a suhr or tom anderson it feels like the end of the world, ya know & that sort of thing does happen...so fate has provided the perfect fix for that, LUXXTONE! All the tone & playability & custom shop options of the TAs & the Suhrs, without the hugely long wait time & stigma attached to scratches & knicks.
Luxxtone is without a doubt the best guitar I have ever played PERIOD & Jerry knows that once my home buying purchase is done in May, I am going his way for one.

WOW that top is insane.

Here's a Cobra I used to own.

And as it's been said, they both make killer guitars. Biggest differences I have found is TA and Suhr pickups are voiced a bit different. Suhr's single coils sound a bit more Fendery while TA uses some hum canceling models. Tom does have one vintage single coil called the V series but I haven't heard one. TA humbuckers sound pretty full and fat and Suhr's are a bit more edgy to me. Try and play some and find one you like.

And why are you selling it?

People look for years to make that claim and never get there. If you have an emergency I am sorry for asking and hope all is well.

Yeah ok LP boy.........................

How was the island pretty boy?

I didn't buy my Anderson to look at, I play the hell out of it.
I've had it 7 years and play an average of 150 gigs a year.
Despite that it looks like new, has a few minor scratches and dings but it's an instrument not a piece of art.

I have an Anderson and play it regularly. It hurts when it gets a ding (only has a couple), but, like wolf5150 said, it was bought to play. I've never tried a Suhr, but I would love to check one out... If you know the neck profile you want, I'm sure either builder will make you a killer guitar. TA will be a little more limited in what he will do (Tom has said he doesn't build something he doesn't like), so that may be a restriction.
