Does anyone happen to know the ballpark amps/cabs that were used on this album? In a couple weeks I'm gonna be recording some friends and they said the rhythm guitars were a tone to reference for what they're going for. I think I can get pretty close with my Recto into a Marshall cab, but any insights would be appreciated.

A Krank was used for most of the heavy rhythms. I think it was a Rev+, but I'm not 100% certain on the model. An Axe FX was used for cleans, leads, and some rhythms.

Cool, thank you. I saw them live a couple years ago and they used Axe FX then, but I wasn't sure if that was what they did on the album.

I may have to try and snag me a Rev+ if that's the tone they produce. It's just so tight and articulate.

No problem. If you do some digging on google and some other forums you might be able to find out if that Rev+ is the specific Krank.

I stumbled upon the Cynic forums and saw a post where Paul was selling a Krank Rev Series 1 and it was used for a bunch of the dirty tones on TIA. I may have to create an account there just to ask some more about it.
