D'Addario NYXL strings

I just started using them and I have a new favorite string. I used to use XL's or Slinkys; the NYXL's are noticeably better. I love them.

I've considered trying these. I typically use DR but they are a pain to find in bulk. I flip flop between the DR and slinkys but much prefer DR. Are these coated? Just curious what you guys like about them since several people have been raving about them online?

I like them. They are feel a bit heavy for the gauge they are. Plus you can buy 3 sets of standard 10-46 for less. They stay in tune really well though.

Do it. You won't regret it. Using the 10-52's on almost all of my guitars.

I received a sample of them from D'addario to try out. Just me personally, they seemed even more stiff than the XL while I was kind of hoping for the opposite so they did not last long in my guitar. It didn't seem enough of a difference to justify the cost from the standard XL.

I was using Blue Steels for about 15 years until I tried the EB Cobalts and switched to those for a year or two. Two weeks ago I got my first pack of NYXL's, put them on a guitar then went the next day and bought a few more packs for some other guitars. I love the feel of them and they definitely last longer (for me) than the Cobalt's. Some new strings have that kind of 'squeak' to them the first couple days, these just have awesome.

Been using them for awhile. Im not gigging at the moment, but they last forever and stay in tune really well.

I've been using regular D'Addario XLs for about 25 years. About every 8 or 10 years I decide I need to try every different brand again, and I seem to end up back where I started. Well, until I got a set of the NYXLs- they're my new favorite string. They stay bright & in tune for a long time.

I'm a big fan! Been using them pretty much exclusively since they came out.

As others have said, they stay in tune incredibly well.

I have the NYXL'S on my Suhr Modern and they have been great. They do stay in tune better.

I've been using these on all of my guitars since I was first able to get them. Great strings!

I have some on my wolfgang...they feel heavier than most 9-42 sets to me. Feel good and sound good but to me they aren't worth the price they ask....

-I tried um,... More like fret and finger wreckers-

-XL PURE NICKLES-

Interesting feedback. I've been thinking about trying these myself. Been an XL user for a long time.
The extra heavy feel doesn't sound appealing. I run 10's in standard tuning.

I'm not sure I completely agree with feeling heavier, maybe stiffer? I run 9-42, 9-46, 10-46 in either standard or Eb and I really like the strings. They're great on both locking trems and TOM's. IMHO

You guys have convinced me to give them a try on my next string order, which will be a while, as I always order strings in bulk for some reason.

been using them for about 6 months, replacing elixers. like them a lot and no breaks. pretensioned well so that they don't stretch near as much and hold tune quicker.

They seem to last longer and sound more balanced if that makes sense. Not sure that the difference is enough to justify the price though, I still primarily use XLs.
