I was on You tube checking out some stuff and came across a few of his videos and reminded me why I was such a fan of the man. Plus he's funny as hell. check him out! Especially Rock n Roll Duty, Lager and Ale and That's a Hold.

Kim is the whole package. Singer, songwriter and guitarplayer.

"might as well go for a soda nobody hurts and nobody cries"

Love that song

I like him with Max Webster the best, but his early solo stuff was great to.

How about a little Battlescar...

At a time when rock musicians were wearing eye liner and spandex....he walked on stage wearing shorts, a tee shirt and a baseball hat. Love it!

Pete Fredette was a helluva musician also...seen here playing drums and singing. He also played bass and keyboards and could sing like a motherfucker! Kim had some great tone and technique at that time. I spent Summers listening to his stuff as a kid.
BTW...I loved when they did this song with Rush!

Kim Mitchell is awesome and he always managed to get some killer tone!!

I grew up in Michigan. Never heard of the guy. I might have at one point, heard that music, and just turned it off.

he's still awesome. Had a great prog-ish 70's band called Max Webster, then had a successful solo career starting in the early 80's and he's still going- still gigs and is a DJ in Toronto on a rock station

check out his latest effort here, cool songs and playing:

p.s. the drummer that I did the NAMM Steve Stevens gig with, Randy Cook, he played with Kim for a long time...

Hey now, I live in St.Louis Mo and I heard it! LOL! I was a big Rush fan, and this was recorded with Rush so it was on the radio here back in the day.. And I saw Max Webster open for Rush a couple times in concert, it was not my favorite type of music, but they were good live.

Kim's newest, 'Ain't Life Amazing' is the best thing he's ever done. He finally gets to cut loose & there's some left-of-center Max Webster-isms thrown in for good measure. And his tone is godly.

"Never speak a killer's name unless he plays guitar..." (Killer's Name)
