So the velcro has decided to start coming off the bottom of my pedals, causing them to slide all over the place during transport and of course I have a show tonight.

What to you guys do to remedy this issue besides re cut new Velcro for the pedals? Just use some contact cement or similar?

Are you using the Pedaltrain Velcro or the 3M Industrial stuff?

I hate to bash on them, but the Pedaltrain Velcro has never worked well for me. Melts off in heat, leaves horribly sticky residue, etc.

The 3M Stuff, on the other hand, has always worked great.

Yeah, trying to remove the 3M is a bitch, can't imagine that coming off. I would re-velcro with that.

First off, do you have rubber backing on any of the pedals? If so, take it off and get it as clean as possible with alcohol or other solution.

As far as applying the velcro- Rooster from Trailer Trash suggested this trick- take a blow dryer to the sticky side for a few minutes until the adhesive gets a glossy look to it, then apply it. It will stick much better.

Are you using the good stuff? There are different "levels" of velcro.

In any event, velcro is evil and makes a horrible noise if you pull it apart. It should be avoided at all costs.

The 3M Dual Lock is the good stuff. I also had good luck with Ace brand double sided tape. Those little squares are damn tough and never let go unless you pry it off. Doesn't leave any goop behind either.

Just like on Cake Boss....but with cakes!

I use Servo Tape that I got from a hobby store. It's not permanent but it sticks way better than any Velcro I have ever tried. You really need to work to get it off. So if you constantly moving your pedals it's not worth it. If you leave your pedals on for a while it's the way to go.

I tap the opposing corners in the pedal (where the cover screws go) and bolt 'em down with longer machine screws through the board.
