I know it has been mentioned several times before. Why the hell can't Charvel do a full route (floating) Floyd on the So-Cal & San dimas? The Desolation single, double, and skatecaster all do. It is time they do an extra-super strat.

Fender headstock
24 fret compound rad
5 way switch
Full route for the Floyd
smaller profile neck joint.

YEAH YEAH I know That's not what a San Dimas or So-Cal is. Give it a new name too.

And why won't them make a semi-hollow body with f-holes shaped like a reverse Explorer with Jazzmaster pickups, a Washburn Wonderbar, and every other fret scalloped?

That factory makes exactly what you want already. It just is either a Jackson or a Fender Showmaster or whatever they are calling it these days. Why does it have to say Charvel on the headstock?

Now excuse me while I go on a Porsche forum and ask why they don't make a front engine, pushrod V8 911. :D

Charvels used to come with recessed heels in the not too distant past. Don't understand why the company would actually choose the block heel 100% of the time over the well designed Charvel recessed heel that doesn't get in your way. Call me dumb but, I'm with sinfish. If it doesn't go up, then a vintage trem will do.

if it doesnt say charvel on the headstock its not a charvel... I've always wondered why they dont just make actual charvels with those things either.

Semi OT to the thread...what is the difference between a So-Cal/San Dimas and PRO MOD So-Cal/San Dimas?

agreed! and they should do the same guitar you described in a hard tail version to! id buy one!

They do all that...it's called a Jackson.

/thread

Your both wrong. Jackson makes the Adrian Smith Signature San Dimas and again no route. If you're gravitating to a Soloist or Dinky then the Body and headstock are completely different. The Phil Collin comes real close too but way to expensive and I hate the gold hardware.

I want the feel of a soloist with the look of a strat.

Sounds like a custom build order is the solution...

Yeah your right. I can't afford the Charvel / Jackson custom shop so Warmoth is the next option for me.

I have two Musikraft 24 fret strat headstock necks that I've put on Jackson Dinky bodies. The necks are not cheap but they are killer and the turn around time for me was about a month from order submission to receiving the neck. Best playing mutts I've ever had. Highly recommended!!!

BTW - I have three PC1's and one PC3 body/PC1 neck mutt. I agree about the hardware and changed the hardware on all of them to black. Huge improvement!

thanks for the tip!

I'm with sinfish. I love the look and feel of the Strat body and headstock of my So Cal but would love a trem I could pull up on. After being so used to my Ibanez RGs and UVs not being able to pull up just seems wrong. And Dinky's just aren't the same.

I would have been happy with one change...truss rod adjustment at the headstock or a little "notch" by the neck pocket like the custom shops.

Who wants to take the fucking neck off for seasonal adjustments.
