So sad to hear the news, I had the chance to meet Mark a few times. Very nice and humble person. I wish him the best in managing this horrible disease.
 
Parkinson's really sucks.

Sad news, wish him the best. There are different types of Parkinson's and hopefully his can be treated effectively and slow down the progression. He's a very good player and been a great source of info here over the years, and seems like a cool guy as well.

Nothing but respect for Mark. Loved his vids throughout the years, and his playing always looks effortless. First time I saw him was on his Egnater build video, and that thing ripped. To me his best tones are from his Custom Audio rig when he was in Canada. That thing screamed and I still watch videos of him playing that rig.
 
I’m very sorry to hear this, too. Mark is a great player, but, even more important than that, he’s a good person.

I remember seeing that, his Egnater roared!! Great player. Take care Mark!
 
Dam, I had no idea he was dealing with Parkinsons, thats a big bite to swallow.

I remember him mentioning that he had some issues with tremors. Wow...this is very tough news for him. Parkinson’s is not a fun disease. My father has had it for a few years now and it has really taken its toll on him. Keep playing and enjoying music, Mark! God bless!
 
I still want Mark to come down and build me a rack like he did for Brad years ago.
Bring some Molson XXX along for the road trip

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the kind thoughts! I was diagnosed in March after a few years of symptoms, thinking I was just getting older, pinched nerve, perhaps the neck on my Lifeson Les Paul was too wide, etc. So it was a bit of a shock to find out I have young onset Parkinson's. Really pissed me off that I got rid of my LP thinking it was the issue lol. Fuck.

My neurologist says it should progress slowly so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I started LevoDopa about 6 weeks ago and it's really helping. I was pretty discouraged a few months ago because my bending and vibrato was becoming a huge struggle and was getting worse. I almost feel normal now, except for a little tremor at times but much less than it was. You probably wouldn't even notice if you were with me, so I'm pretty excited.

I'm also in a self imposed state of denial, which helps a lot lol.

Anyway thanks so much for keeping me in your thoughts, it made my day, guys!!!

Doesn't sound like you've lost a step man. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya as well. Now I want to buy a prs with a Floyd. Damn.
 
My mother has Parkinson too. Can`t even remember when she was diagnosed, but must have been 10-15 years ago. Her symptoms have not gotten worse in all those years. All the best Mark!
