Daniel Penny Found Not Guilty

I looked up the case yesterday to see what it was all about. Not sure how current law would've rendered him guilty but my personal feeling was the whole situation could've been avoided with a dose of human kindness. A $20 bill for something to eat and drink seems like it would've solved the situation but I wasn't on site to see exactly what happened. I know dude was saying he was hungry/thirsty and didn't give AF anymore. Big cities are becoming bad places these days. It's unfortunate to see places like LA, which was basically the pinnacle of human achievement in terms of civilization turn into cesspool via corruption and bad management.

the man is a fucking hero. have any of you seen a nut job wrecking havoc in a subway before.

Mr Penny should of have had a US Marine honor guard escorting him in and out of court

I bet his legal fees are through the roof

Perfect example why ive never been to New York.

I was in Manhattan a couple weeks ago for a few days. I was happy to come back to New Hampshire.

Neely had a history of being a violent schizophrenic, things weren't going to end well for him and thankfully he was stopped before he hurt anyone else. He was one of those types that if you did try to give him $20 out of the kindness of your heart, he'd take it and assault you in the same breath.

"Jordan Neely had a troubling history of violent attacks on straphangers in New York City before the disturbed man reportedly threatened passengers and Marine vet Daniel Penny allegedly put him in a fatal chokehold.

The 30-year-old vagrant, who once performed as a Michael Jackson impersonator, had been arrested dozens of times – including most recently for vicious assaults on subway riders, court records show.

In 2021, Neely socked a 67-year-old woman as she exited the Bowery station in the East Village in Lower Manhattan.

The woman sustained a broken nose, a fractured orbital bone, and "bruising, swelling and substantial pain to the back of her head" in the Nov. 12 attack, according to a criminal complaint...

The troubled man, who has a history of mental illness and drug addiction, had a difficult upbringing. His mother was strangled by her boyfriend in 2007 and found stuffed in a suitcase in the Bronx.

Court records show that as an adult Neely regularly lashed out at strangers on the subway and on the street.

From January 2020 to August 2021, he was arrested for public lewdness after pulling down his pants and exposing himself to a female stranger, misdemeanor assault for hitting a woman in the face, and criminal contempt for violating a restraining order. All three cases were dismissed as part of his Feb. 9 plea deal.

In June 2019, Neely attacked Filemon Castillo Baltazar, 68, on the platform of the W. 4th St. Station in Greenwich Village, according to the court papers.

"Out of nowhere, he punched me in the face," the victim told the New York Daily News. He said he'd seen Neely before looking for food in the trash bins. "

yeah well im a Vet and so is Penny and ive been to the VA for PTSD and things but before i got help i drank & did drugs to cope. And i was off the beam alot.
Mr. Penny was found not guilty and thats the end of it.
But the guy he choked out wasn't a deadly threat he just needed help.
Mental health isn't a death sentence. No winners here.
Unless Marj got an email "from the heaven" from God himself she has [as usual] no idea wtf she's babbling about except exploiting misfortune for political gain [as usual].
As for the VA i wouldn't send a dog to the VA. I got the help i needed from a regular hospital and it was expensive.

44 times to be exact.

The problem in NYC is that they closed down most of the mental hospitals and just let the crazies out into the public.
