Dano Fab Flange

Picked it up last night at GC.

I got to test it out in the past couple nights with the band. Sounded pretty darn good. Way better than the flanger section of my Ibanez CF7. It almost sounds more like a chorus when using it clean. That may have just been the setting I was using. It sounded great with distortion. I used it quite a bit tonight.

Pros:

Very usable sound.
No volume boost or drop.
No noticable tone loss.
The casing seems pretty sturdy. Much like my Fish & Chips.
Bright blue LED
Small footprint
$15 out the door.

Cons:

The knobs could be a bit confusing on these pedals. When looking at the pedal from the top, you have to turn the knobs backwards to increase the speed/gain/etc.. Since you're turning the knobs from behind.

That's about it. I'll have to wait and see how reliable it is. Seems sturdy enough. Worth the $15. I think I'll grab the rest of the line one of these days. I'm really interested in the chorus, distortion, and the overdrive. I'd love to see them come out with a phaser.. I'd grab that in a heartbeat.

I used to have the version that was named afer the food, it was very decent for 20 bucks.

I just sold that pedal and my FAB chorus for $10 ( I only payed $7 buck a piece because of a GC sale).

Playing with my new FAB Flange as we speak.....


My son and I are playing 'Run Like Hell' from the Pulse DVD using the flanger, Dan-Echo, CArvin X-100B....


Lots of fun!!! I bought it because I've had good luck with the FAB pedals I've tried so far( Metal, Overdrive, Flange), and I'm really getting into modulation pedals. I bought a used MXR Phase 100 at GC during their Labor Day sale, and my Dan-Echo is a pretty versatile pedal hampered by fragile in/out jacks..

1 month later the FAB Flange is 'dead as Dillinger'...


It still works, but there is an annoying 'bump'-'pop' sort of cutting out when it's on. A shame, as I really liked the tones I got from it. Maybe it served its purpose, to let me find out if I like flanger or not for a small investment.


Does GC take returns that are 1 month old?
