Well to no avail. I cannot reach mike by Facebook email text or telephone. My wife n I were blocked from there Facebook. I have a Dar forza n 4x12 paid for waiting to come home. My head went make for a midi repair n some updates. It was supposed to ship out months ago. I am at a 4800$ Loss. I am not rich I busted my ass for that money. Josh sage hooked me up w Dar amps. And josh is out of business as well! What is my next step. This is rude n uncalled for. The gear was paid for. Chris

The police is your next step. File a theft report with the station in the same town as DAR amps.

Curious myself as too what has happened to this company, thought they were doing great???????

I tried to give him a ring last week. Left him a message. I haven't purchased anything from Mike and don't have anything invested other than my concern for him. The guy is brilliant and I really hope he gets things moving. I was in the shop months ago and can tell you there were a fleet of Forza's and FBM's in various stages of production. He mentioned having labor issues and I offered to help him with parts sourcing. Mike, if you're reading this man give me a shout. I want to help if I can.

File a report with the authorities. Fuck these guys who take people's money and don't deliver.

Seriously I could give two shits how many times pepole have been in their shop, heard sob stories, etc etc ..... fuck em.

he deleted everyones psts that were asking for there amps, not just his.

my situation might be different since i just ordered and didnt give him anything but i called the sheriff, two police stations (the wrong county but they told me the same) none of them said they could do anything. they said its all civil and not criminal.

i filed complaints with the better business bureau and the attorney generals office. i'd be surprised if that did anything

im going to try to file a civil so but im confused on whether i can file one against him in my home state, because i cant afford to fly out there to fil in his county.

my gut tells me im never going to see that money again, or get an amp. which really sucks, it was all the money i had, i live check to check other than that. i was an idiot to spend it like that, but i was promised it would be here in a certain amount of time and i was going to sell my current amp to make the money back. im not telling a sob story though, im young, have no family or mortgage or anything

anyway, live and learn

$4800 in the hole? I think that warrants:

a) $500 airplane ticket from Scranton to Palo Alto and pay them a visit.
b) File for theft with the Sheriff's office.
c) Hire an ambulance chaser to file fraud in Civil Court.
d) Find Judge Judy.
e) Hire a thug for knee-capping.
f) Hire a private investigator to check him out and get the facts, movements, etc.
g) Alert the Feds to an Interstate Fraud case.
h) If you paid with a credit card, get them involved with a Fraud case.
i) Tip off the IRS for DAR exporting US built goods without paying taxes.
j) Report to the BBB.
k) Report strange looking machines to Homeland Security.

There's lots of things to do to fuck with them. All you have to do is find one entity to take interest and start poking around in his affairs. Sorry to hear about the loss though. It is painful when these fly by nights come along and take advantage of people. We've all probably got similar stories.

Whoa, I had no idea Mike was deleting posts and blocking people from Facebook. Until now, he's been able to slip with the excuse of being busy, his injury, etc., but if he has the time to block and delete people on Facebook, then he has the time to start emailing people about their money. You should definitely report him to the authorities, and don't worry, you wouldn't be the first to do it.

Wow. Shocking to say the least. And to think he went all the way with custom tuning with artists, NAMM shows, pre-orders, to blocking, stealing, and ignoring customers. Sounds like a class A modern day Cameron case. That or their credit is seriously fucked up beyond the point of being able to deliver goods or money.

If you have any hopes of seeing that money again then you're dreaming. Better chances of seeing an amplifier but i still would not hold my breathe. Sad to see so much money stolen - thats alot of goods to lose and many years of hard work down the drain.

I'd be spending more to get a plane ticket, a video camera, and make it personal.

Definitely all of the above. Most notably, the one one in bold, as it might in fact get the most traction.

Bro - you need to send a registered/certified letter to their business address in Palo Alto, receipt required by the addressee. Just a short note to say that due to the non-fulfillment of your <work to be done or gear supplied>, the date the order was placed and money sent, and by what means the money was sent and that you hereby request your money refunded immediately by whichever means you prefer.

Leave no other outs or anything else. This makes things more official if it does go legal. They can always say they didn't get an email or remember a phone call. A registered letter through the PO, is undisputed.

i also just might have to give that a try, thanks

When I got ripped a while back (2003), it took one Detective (at the guys local PD) to stay on the case for everything to work out 3 years later. He ripped you off, stole, you need to stay on the cops. Keep talking to other detective, police cheif, who ever. Call the Mayors office. The police HAVE to do something about it or nothing will ever happen. It's a lot of paper work and a lot of hassle. That's why you're getting the run around. Sucks. Good luck bud.

EDIT: With out a police report, it ever happened.

I remember that box of sheetrock scam so well from back then, with a satisfying ending no less.

This is very very bad news. I have no factual knowledge but it sounds like the other guy hit the nail on the head. DAR got in over their head in orders, saw the potential $$$$$ to be made, ruined his credit and now cant finish his amps.

Horrible tragedy for a very new, interesting and badass amp building company.

All BS aside, you are not going to get your money back....Courts will drag out forever and even if they order him to pay, good luck. If he doesnt nothing will happen, your file will go at the bottom of the stack of files bigger than DAR's warehouse.

IMO you have 2 options, call the feds (being international fraud) or take matters into your own hands.

You would still get better/faster results taking matters into your own hands I would guess.

I do not recommend armed robbery, you could easliy go to prison for Ten years. BUT if this happened to me I would be at his shop taking my unfinished amp, along with some finished products and anything else I could obtain for my troubles. I know easier said than done, but thats alot of money to let someone get over on you.

Has any of the affected parties sourced an attorney to find out exactally what they need and can do?

Have any of the affected parties co-ordinated to hire an attorney to strengthen your case and disperse the cost? Its hear that when hired the screws will start to be put to DAR.

Enough time has passed with no action from DAR. I'm just saying I would concerntrate my efforts and inititive to organize and co-ordinate VS. bickering and griping. SS.org has a similar thread that turned to a bitch thread. Im sure a few of them would jump on this effort. I cant see how 5-10 guys involved and organized cant handle the cost of an attorney.

This is just a suggestion and what Id be doing.
