The forza is fully capable of metal. Great crunch great gain. I had both the fbm is 3 channels of the same shit. It's kinda lifeless to me. The forza was warm w a killer clean. I regretted the trade but fuck Dar all together !

If you invest in a Dar and it craps out on you there is no hope for you to get a hold of the builder for repairs.

I had asked an amp builder/repair person that I respect and he pointed out that the horizontal nature of the tubes will cause the elements in the tube to sag and thus burn out faster. In the horizontal position due to the heat generated the elements are not in a position to wear evenly. This is not a direct translation from the person I spoke with. This is my best recollection from a conversation I had with him. This is not intended as a slam against DAR Amps.

I do agree that they look extremely cool and I was interested in purchasing one of them.

The power tubes are designed to run in a fighter jet that will go mach 3!

Just thinking out loud here, but i'm kindda thinking sitting sideways in my living room ain't gonna hurt them much?

Completely untrue!!! That is a generalized misconception. Tube data sheets will specify whether or not a tube has to be mounted a specific way.

Most KT88,77,66, EL34, 6L6 and other guitar amp tubes can be mounted in any position and have been for years. I have checked the tube data sheets for these tubes and the datasheets all said " can me mounted vertical or horizontal"

Plus nothing is sagging.

Yep, the tubes in many rack power amps are situated horizontally anyway.
