The Friedman/Marsha and Naked killed everything by a mile at the show. The big surprise was the unveiling of Dave's new amp 'Dirty Shirley'. Kind of a JTM45 style Marshall. Sounded amazing and looked so cool. I think it was around 40 watts. Anyway, that was it, the show was really lack luster to me other then Dave.

Dirty Shirley you say??? Oh shit, here comes more gas pains. Dave, make this one something a poor bastard like myself can afford, k? :D

James, did you and Rob ever make those clips of the Naked/Friedman?

Looking at the vendor list, I was expecting Dave to be in the drivers seat for this show, with the Marsha and Naked.

Steve

My boy James Lugo is gonna do vid/clips of the Naked and Dirty Shirley this week or at least we will get it going

Shirley you must be joking.

Don't call me shirley.

Love the name, funny yet descriptive

Nice!

I was going to go but when the high gain crew didn't sign up or dropped out there was little point. No Bogner, Fryette, Diezel, Elmwood, Soldano, Cameron, etc.

I heard the Friedman stuff into the J75 Scumbacks was incredible.

Dirty Shirley? How the hell do you come up with these names Dave? LOL I can't wait to hear it. I am soooo Happy with my Brown Eye and Custom 45. I can imagine how the Naked and Dirty Shirley sound in person!

My impression is the Dirty Shirley is super organic and real sounding. The thing I loved about the amp is you heard the guitar, some amps just wipe away any real character of the guitar with saturation and compression. This amp was real sounding and feeling. It was in the vein of a Plexi but had it's own thing. It sounded so good to my ears, very versatile too. As you played softer the amp cleaned up like Fender/Vox kind of vibe. Great amp and something I think that is unique to Friedman type guys, it's not just another high gain/jose yata yata yata, it's fresh and a sound that is really important in rock-n-roll. You could do anything from Tom Petty to STP to GnR to AC/DC to Kelly Clarkson/Pink to country to pop. My kind of amp. I really am excited to play it some more. It was refreshing. To me I don't find channel switching amps versatile I find amps that switch tones and gears based on your playing versatile. Fukker kicks ass!

This sounds like an amazing amp. Can't wait to hear more about Her.

James, that is exactly how I feel after gigging with my Friedman modded Marshall. I play in a cover band, Aretha to Ozzy, ac/dc to Pink. All I need to go from clean to full shred is the volume on my guitar. Once you play like that, channel switching looses its appeal.

Mike

Oh man this Dirty Shelly sounds really interesting, especially since Dave has my JTM45 in the line up for mods. Interesting to hear that he has something specifically for kt66's....hmmmmm

I did have something different to show you and another studio guy. Total heinz 57 thing that just roars and does the infinate sustain thing like a dumble, but way more agressive. Next time.

I have never heard a better description of the type of amp I would want. Change guitars to change your sound. Work the volume to change your sound. This is not good for me! Please say these will be $10K and have a 3 year wait time so I can just forget about these. Thank you.
