it's a hard pick,for sure,but for me it's a toss-up between the BE and C45 :)

I like a combo best.

BE, C45 and Depth switch :rawk:

This combo is the choicer

I'd have to agree.

Do you have the Depth switch?
I LOVE how it does not effect the mids/high's or inherent voicing.
Just adds more punch with just the right tightness. Still keeps the woody feel and tone. KILLER! I leave mine
on all the time no matter the setting.

 I voted the KS mod cause it is awesome.
I voted the C-45 because it is my fav....
And I voted other ,due to the fact that the depth control is where it's at... ;)
I like all of the stuff my Friedman modded stuff does....

Seems like the C45 is the fave so far. Those that voted that way, why is that? Just curious. Dave has my amp and we have yet to talk about what exactly I want done with it. I am thinking C45 and Cantrell mods.

The C-45 mod has a sweetness to it.. Kinda hard to explain it any other way.
Go back through some of these threads in this forum and you can get alot of good opinions and info from a good many of us.
When I run the amp with C-45 switched on I find it just sits in the mix the best..
Very pleasing to my ears....and everyone else's ears in that same room or venue.

+1!!!!

I don't think Dave is doing any more Cantrell mods. Something proprietary, but I am not certain. I don'tt have a C45 but I have the angry hippie(JBE) and it seems to smooth and sweeten the tone also. I wonder if they are similar.

HBE all the way, but they're all great! C45 is definately second.

How do you think the Friedman compares to say the Elmwoods?

Im actually contemplating my next amp to compliment my Diezel Einstein.

Im thinking of: Bogner XTC 20th, Friedman Marsha, CAA PT-100, Cameron CCV or maybe even an Elmwood...

By the way, how good are the cleans on the Marsha (without the clean channel mod)???

all Dave's mods kick ass !

Love my HBE and can't wait to get my BE/C45 (in fact the HBE sounds so good I sold all my other amps including my prized splawns)

Daves work is legendary and companies like Marshall are complete
morons if they don't hire Dave as Chief Engineer

I love the kitchen sink + clean for the flexibility it gives. Most of the time am on BE +C45 and sat on for gainer stuff. Sounds killer!

I love both Be and HBE but I have to recognise that I have found a very good sound with the HBE and C45 together on medium gain stage.

It sounds amazin with my Les Paul Reissue 56 with P90 pickups.

So far for me it's the KS mod with BE, C45 and HBE all in one amp.... It really works for me! I'm in love with that rig.... that amp mod combo in any config cranked is really sweet!

I mainly live in the BE mode with the C45 on, gain at 1:00 or so.... nice sweet Marshall + tones!

How many times does we get to vote??

hey Nico, here is what my take on the Elmwoods versus the others are.. :)
The elmwood is a great amp. I have a modena 60. But to me it is a very polished sounding amp compared to the friedman amps, cameron amps, golub amps etc...
If you like the fender chimey cleans then you will love the Elmwoods. I love the dual master controls on the Elmwoods.
The friedman modded amps and the rest I mentioned in my comparison sound more live, raw so to speak. The Elmwood sounds more studio....hi fi if you will.

+1 on the Elmwood. And if you open it up, it looks more like a computer than an amp.
