Been searching the web for a replacement set of pickups for my Les Paul. It currently has the BurstBucker Pros and they are not 100% for me.

I prefer a slightly scooped, compressed tone. Triplets, chuga-chuga - Iced Earth kinda percussive palm muting. Mainly stay in Eb and some times drop C# 11-50's. Love the power chords and crystal clear pinches that cut like a knife.

Les Paul is mahogany neck and body with maple cap- rosewood fret board.

Been looking at a lot of pickups and came across the David Allen Hellcat. Anyone have any experience with it? Any experience with it in a Les Paul?

Currently interested in:
-BK Miracle Man
-BK Holy Diver
-BK Nail Bomb ceramic
-S. Duncan Distortion SH-6 and SH-1 combo (old faithful combo. Always loved it in hog guitars)
-Suhr Aldrich's

Opinions welcomed and appreciated.

Never tried the Hellcat, but I did have a set of his Alley Cats in a Custom Shop LP for a while, and a set of his P90's. The Alley Cat was a cool PAF style pickup, but wouldn't suit your needs. David is a great guy to deal with - excellent customer service and willing to talk in-depth about pickups with you.

Might not be enough output for you, but maybe Dimarzio titans?
