I'm looking at a DCM 150 to add to my rack to be able to run W/D/W. This would be pushing the wet parts of the signal. it says its 60 watts @ 8 ohms, will this keep up with my JSX for the dry tone?

Just want to make sure before I pull the trigger.

I used one with my Cornford in W/D/W rig. It kept up fine and is a great power amp. I read somewhere it is the power amp that Bob Bradshaw used to recommend for W/D/W setups.

i was kinda surprised when I red that ss amps were recommended for wet applications...so I saw one for sale and just want to make sure it had enough juice to keep up. I was running my cyber twin head as the other power section for a stereo setup, and even with the master maxed it couldnt keep up....

Some like tube power amps for the wet part of their rig. Solid state does not color the tone as much which I think would be preferred. At least for the Cornford I wanted to retain as much as that sweeeeeet tone as I could.

why the hell does my DCM1000 sound weak then? It's not very loud and others have thought the same thing on the axefx forum. A tech head on there stated that the 1000 SS watts it puts out is = to a maxed out 30 tube watt amp. Thats about what mine sounds like vol. wise.
:(

where do I set the send on my JSX if I'm sending it to a W/D/W system...would I turn to 10 to get the most signal?

My Carvin DCM did not work well with the Axe Fx. It did work well being used for a wet signal coming from the Cornford to the Suhr ISO Box routed into the Carvin. I went to a Mesa 2:90 and an extremely happy with the Axe Fx this way.

In regards to setting the slave out, you will want to set this as high as possible but watch your clipping in any units it feeds. Most probably want the effects layered under their dry tone but you would control this volume at the Carvin level. Hope that helps.

what does the ISO box help out with?

Turns any speaker jack into a line out. BUT THE OTHER SPEAKER JACK MUST BE CONNECTED TO A LOAD! (Sorry for the shouting, but gotta make that loud and clear).

The Cornford did not have a Slave out like you have with the JSX. ISO Box is an expense you do not need.

by slave out, do you mean FX send?

I am not familiar with the JSX but the Slave out is an out after the power amp usually that will send the preamp and power amp section out at a line level so you can tap into another system for Wet. FX Send is preamp out and FX Return is Power amp In on a head via the FX Loop. If you send out the FX Send then you are only sending your preamp signal and I would think this would not be as desirable for a W/D/W setup. On most amps I have had you get no sound out to the dry cabinet from the head unless something is feeding the FX Return on the amp. This may not be the case for you and I have not dealt with using FX Loops in amps for W/D/W setups before so somebody else will need to chime in here.

that was my question intially to....i didnt think that the jsx would work unless something was plugged into the FX Return. I didnt understand how the 'dry' signal was going to be created and sent out.

...till I tried it. Sure enough. I rewired my cab for stereo and plugged my amp in with the FX send going to the Loop return on the g-system. L/R outs will go to the DCM 150 I just won for $155.00 on evilbay. The JSX will just put out to the "middle" 2X12.

my amp does have a Line Out with a knob for level next to the speaker outs. Is that the output that I would use to go into the DCM150?

That makes sense in my head now that the Line level has been explained.

That way I get the full Pre/Power sound of the jsx going to the DCM and powered by clean SS power to the other cabs. Am I correct?

ok, just to make sure I have it in my head right.

guitar - G-SYS In - Loop 5 out to JSX In - Line level out to Gsys Loop 5 Return - G Sys L/R outputs to DCM150 inputs....

Is that right?

I prefer the Rocktron Velocity 120 to the Carvin DCM150. Had both and kept the Velocity.

i'm sure that will be the next tone quest in my rig.

I would not go guitar into the G System. You are not getting a true dry signal this way. I would go like this

Guitar into JSX, JSX out to dry cabinet.

Your line out on back of JSX into Mono in on G Sytem, G System out stereo into power amp out stereo into your one stereo cab or two cabs however you have it configured. That will give you a true W/D/W setup.

Hope that helps.

ok, so once again, just to make sure i have it right....with all my components added in cause I'm special  that way

Guitar > Wireless > Wah > ISP Ch1 > JSX Input

JSX FX Send > ISP CH.2 > JSX FX Return > Middle Dry speakers

JSX Line Out > G> Sys Input > Loop 1 - Blues Driver > L/R Output to DCM150 > L/R Wet Cabs

Sorry for all the reassurance, but I wanna make sure I understand it and have it setup right before I just start plugging stuff in and out. and end up
