Deal i had to take JCA2212c combo

MF stupid deal OTD JCA2212c $299.00 i reflected and quickly reviewed the amp on the tube.
Improved now with 2 channels,crunch and OD high gain.
Im looking for a natural breakup classic R&R and blues using P-90 humbucker sized pups on a schecter solo 6 custom LE.

Anybody tried one,im waiting and wondering if i will like it.
My impression is its voiced thick and bold with less focas as most marchall plex amps, more low growl.

I have a box of NOS 12ax7 tubes with pairs of TAD-RUBY-RI MULLARD el-84 tubes so im going tone hunting !
I luv the slide on those 90 pickups. I want a rail hammer pup today !

Gosh i could not help myself,it comes with a eminence Ledgend 12" spkr.

I bought a 2 yr. warranty cheap $64.00 i think it was.

Did i buy a dud ?
 
I sure hope so,no amps are cheap and great but maybe this one is a exception !

it's a great amp. I have the jca22 head as well as the combo. You might prefer the crunch side which dishes up great old school rock and roll. The overdrive side goes waaaaaaay further and is very high gain. They are well built and are easy to work on and do mods to if that is your thing. I've done some work to mine and like it even more now. The jca22 and jca2212 have the improved post master fx loop that is a lot more pedal friendly then the others plus since it's post master it doesn't have that loud trails pop when going from od to normal like most soldano circuits. Congrats on a killer deal on a great amp.
 
Im glad to hear the old school rock & roll is there,i have enough non sino tubes to help it be near its best.
When i was younger and less accomplished i liked high gain,now it would be to limited except for sporatic coniption fits.
 
It's a great amp. I have the head, not sure about the combo. The crunch channel is great for classic rock. It was a little harsh out of the box. I put in JJ power and preamp tubes and it smoothed it out nicely. The lead channel is a little over the top, not bad if you dial back the gain. I put in some lower gain preamp tubes.
Marshall like crunch with a loop, 2 channels and master volume that works in low volume situations and is loud enough for small venues and is light as a feather for under $400. What else could you ask for?
 
Did you find out which preamp tube drives the high gain channel ect:
Id luv to hear what you discovered,i could not find any info.
Yes you did good changing preamp tubes , sino tubes breakup differently and there harsh ive found and there noisy.
The EQ recovery tube helps set the character of bass-treble-mids and a bright tube helps darker sounding amps.

I pulled out my box of NOS 12ax7 5751 ect; awaiting delivery about wed.
I have 3 types of matched el84 pairs.
The OD channel may like a 12ay7 to drop the gain.
 
I found the bias trim pot on the board and it was labled so i put my tube probe adapter and found only 5milliamp per each tube yuck.
I put the RI mullard el84s in and gave them 19 milliamp each.
Now she rocks,i went ahead and retubed all the 12ax7 tubes .
I found a post whom seems to know what tube does what.
V1 a/b feeds crunch & OD channel ---NOS mullard
V2 a/b OD gain----- tungsol
V3a crunch & OD---NOS baldwin
V3b cathode follower (careful 12ax7 selection here )
V4 FX loop---- sovtek 12ax7wa ( hint no brite hi gain tube here) i learned this lesson on a rebel 30
V5 Phase inverter-----sovtek 12ax7lps

The amp is outragous on both channels
I cant believe it now the jca5012c is $399 on jet citys web site . wow
The 5012c has the 100 watt controls and 6L6 tubes

These jet city amps are going to be club marvels at this price and lots of luv .
The Eminence speaker is very good as it screams the lead high notes like no other amp i have, OD pedals work very well.
By far my Alberta T-rex OD pedal is the best blues & RR pedal with the Green Rhino comming in 2nd in tone !
The OD channel picks up where the crunch gain ends and the EQ is perfectly matched it seems.

I dont know the 12ax7 info is correct but i think it is accurate.
Please let me know if anyone has more or correct info on the preamp functions layout ect :
I couldnt turn the vol up to 3 gained up it was so huge sounding jez.
One sweet effects loop i swear!
If you try one your going to buy one i betcha!
