my usual shitty video of an awesome underrated amp.

for anyone interested in this amp just know it does pretty well at bedroom volumes. the volume on the amp in this video is low to the point that you can still hear the strings. it can be a little bit of a pain to dial in if you don't know how to use a mesa but once it's setup right it kills.

in the vid im using my Lynch ESP Kamikaze 1 with an EMG 81 in the bridge. the cab is the bogner oversized 2x12 with v30s

yea i know, the mic clips and all that but enjoy the room tones of the amp. i think you can get a decent idea of how it sounds in the room and how much low end it has

Nothing shitty about that Rich, sounds great has your classic sonic signature.

I used to have an old DC-5 head brings back memories, I boosted it of course.

AMp sounds good. I like that metal tone.
Dont need a "warm brown sound" when I play...

The DC series was definitely a sleeper series. I was actually looking for a DC5 when I found a smoking deal on my MKIV.

I am still toying with the idea of getting a DC 3 just for a little grab and go.

Nice riffage.

Sounds a bit like a modded recto to me. Has that Recto roar but the Mark's definition.

Here's some of my DC-5 clips. The first vid isn't me playing, just commentating.

I had 2 DC-5's years ago. A head and a combo. Did tons of shows with them and they worked great. The head I had paired up with the vertical Mesa 2x12 with V30's and it sounded nice. The clean channel sounds really good when the pull/push is out, it makes it loud but it's a nice crunchy tone.

Man that sounds great. I'd love to get one of these but NEVER see them in head form, always combos.
As mentioned, it sounds like a Mark combined with that modern Recto sound.

Yeah, the clean channel w/ the Pull Boost out, coupled with either singles or split humbuckers sounds amazing. Push it a little with an SD1 or TS, and it's really versatile. And that's before you even delve into channel two.

I have the widebody combo version. the DC-5 is WAY underrated imho

Here's a combo I had.

I think it sounds more like a recto but feels like a mark...if that makes any sense

It has the liquid gain mark feel thing going on and has that recto somewhat saggy sub low bass response going on. It has its own thing for sure I deffinetly like it more than some of the more expensive amps I've owned. It just has a lot more character

Used to have a DC-5 head, pretty cool amp but felt the 50w was limiting. Played a DC-10 combo which was the second best Mesa I've ever played.

Would like to check out those amps again.

Sounds great, and I usually do not like most mesas.

Definitely Roars

Wow the DC-5 sounds great. I almost bought one back in the day, but opted for the VHT 50CL.!!
