Ever since fagomatix left, its been a bit more boring.
Not because of his gear, because it was a beautiful thing listening to him crash into the wall every day.
Classic meltdowns, Im affraid I may never see these type ever again. Then the people that kissed his ass.. they were almost as equally funny.

Anyway, since he left.. downhill.

Liberal ideology is weak and ruins everything. Too many pussies crying all the time.
Now it has infiltrated a gear forum.

start your own Right-talk-rig talk forum if you don't like the rules and you dudes are all about the rules
Much rather see Reza demo the new Fortin amp than be bashed over the head by Canada's best..

This place is still better than HCAF. I want to read about gear and trust opinions here

I only went into the Off Topic forum a few times over the years, saw the treads and knew it's a no-win area. I didn't want to know anyone's political views on here, but that's just me.

Anyway, now that all that's been decided, I'm thinking about getting a new Blades amp and Kiesel build thread going. Any suggestions?

There are a MILLION places on the Internet where you can bitch at people for their political beliefs. Why on earth would anyone feel the need to do that on a gear forum?

The Blades threads brings us together ..the off topics pulls us apart...

I am glad they implemented the rule. The board used to be better than it is now. All the political bullshit caused people to leave that contributed an awful lot in my opinion. Well, politics and jealousy. Quite frankly, some of the people posting here now are more suited for TGP.

I don't like any of the political options going right now, so I don't care if everyone knocks themselves out over politics or religion at all.

A couple of things to remember about forums and members of them.

1) You agreed to the forum rules when you joined. If they change them and you object, then you can bail, or abide by the new rules. Pretty simple logic.

2) No one said you got to have a say in the rules just because you joined.

3) If you don't like the rules, start your own forum, pay to host it, weed out everything you don't like being said, or respond to it as much as you want. Ban people at will, flame them as well. It's your money you get to decide how things run, problem solved, right?

4) You don't pay to be here, that alone entitles you to...oh yeah, nothing.

5) There are no 1st, 2nd or any amendment rights on forums. You gave that all up when you joined.

I know some members think they should be "allowed" to say whatever they want. Well, that's just not the way it goes. You can get away with that for awhile, until management notices, gets pissed off at your disruptive posts/opinons/whatever, and then the hammer comes down.

I guess respect for the hosts of the forum weren't part of your big picture. Here's some news, it is for them, and if you abuse it, gee whiz, topics/posts/members get deleted/banned/restricted.

I'm not sure why this is so hard to understand, but every guitar gear forum I know of that hasn't descended into a out of control pissing match has banned political and religious discussions.

Just an observation of the facts according to forum rules I've seen over the last 15 years or so.

But like I said, if you don't think it's right, start your own forum, and have at it.

I imagine you'll pay around $800-1000 per year minimum, plus moderating the posts, giving up your life to respond, lose your job over your need to spend way too many hours policing your forum because it's the right thing to do, and as your unemployment runs out you'll likely say "Crap, that was a bad move."

But hey...if that's important to you, go for it.

I like to talk about guitars/gear/amps, so you won't see me at your political/religious/whatever forum.

Thank you, Mailman1971.

You may have already seen it, but I reported my own post for spewing common sense to the mods, and saying I may as well report it before someone else does.

I'm sure someone will flame me for it, but the forum rules are the rules you agreed to and have to follow. Last time I checked, there weren't a separate set of rules if you disagreed with THE FORUM RULES. LOL

Noted!! Nah... no need to have to report common sense. Maybe some people want a special invitation to the party here and VIP treatment.
Well..... Their Invite Is In the mail. haha!
Till then its back to business again. Lets make this place fun the way it used to be.
I have good buds that used to post here a lot leave. They call this forum "SHIT TALK" and ask why I hang out still.
Because even with the few hiccups around.... Still the coolest forum out there!!!!

Well where is the sub forum where I can lobby for my own set of rules because I need every mod to send me an amp to try out stat.

Huh, a new angle on gear acquisition syndrome. Good luck with that!

If you were running a business and wanted to spend money on advertising and you looked at political post on RT would you invest advertising money ?

I certainly would not want my business associated with it in any way.

The people that own the forum bought it as a investment.... They make money by selling advertising.
I'm extremely surprised they did not make this ban years ago.

Good other than beat up from helping my Father with his yard. That and I am starting a new band. Funny I was thinking of MOAAH also since this happened.

What's going on with you ?

Exactly right. All those ads at the top of the page pay the bills that allow all the members to discuss gear.

Of course if every member of RT donated money each month then the members could blast away without fear of pissing off the advertisers.

You just can't expect the advertisers/owners to want to pay for a bunch of non gear related drama.
