It's been asked before and IIRC Papa said it's not a good idea. Still bumming about the attenuation thing? If you've never tried it throw a nice volume pedal in the series loop. Same (well very similar) tone less volume.

Why ? It´s just mismatching the output transformer
which decreases sound quality. It´s not a big
decrease concerning volume but maybe more
power amp compression which will destroy your
EQ settings. Same with the attenuation thing.
I would recommend 12 power tubes

Try a plexiglass shield in front of the cab to take the edge off the volume. Might be enough to get you there.

According to "Doc Brown" you'll need 1.21 gigawatts ... so a few more tubes required, but i like where this is going lol

mind you, i'd hate to pay for a revalve.............OUCH!
