Diezel Amps Question

With all the respect for everyone opinion and the great effort to show the amps, but I have to admit that the videos from Musik Schimdt for the Diezel Amps are not so great representation of the amps.
Probably because of the microphone position, but they sound unfocused, boomy and really fizzy and abrasive in the high frequency range. Obviously IMO.

no video or recordings really show the amp for what it is ever. the only way to know what it sounds like is to have it infront of you.

Thanks to be nice but these clips sounds terrible and that´s
not only on the Diezel clips. I´m very thankfull that the guys
take effort to advertise the products and I´m very happy to
deal with them but I don´t would buy a Diezel after I heard
the recordings. Just my personal opinion of course.

Hey Peter, sorry for being unclear in my last post.
What I meant is that, I had the pleasure to both play and hear it in live and in recordings, and it's a way better amp!
Without using the obvious web hyperbole, but it's not 10% better...maybe it's 200% better than that!
IMHO right now, it's "the" amp!

I agree guys, no video would ever be as good as the real stuff. And I have tried out the VH4 myself and fell in love with it. The real thing cant compare to any video. However, I dont have the means to try out the Herbert at the moment but I wanted to get an idea how it compares to VH4. As I'm mostly after modern thrash sounds (newer Kreator, Exodus, Testament stuff) and what I hear about Herbert I thought maybe that would be better for me. If there was never a Herbert existed than I wouldnt even blink and get the VH4 hehe :))

I think the clips from Josh Wibaut are one of
the best clips on the net. Raw and honest.

hmmmm herbert or vh4, herbert or vh4, herbert or vh4........

Then went on to the Herbie....
same deal! No Clip will get you close to what its like playing it in person! ;)
FOR SURE!!

I 100% agree .Its nice to see the Les paul and strat demos and he shows the flexibility of the amps with his demos ,country ,Blues ,Classic and modern rock tones.

I hope you guys can get him a Dmoll ,IMO He would do a great demo and review I am sure

I'm impressed by the sound of Josh W. herb's clips... what's the setup ? What are the settings ?
I own a Herbert but I can't get these sounds (ok, I don't have his fingers ;-))...maybe my tubes are for long dead... :-s

Waiting for new tubes from Peter, I'm excited to rediscover Herbert.

I've just read about the Hagen and D-moll last weekend so I've put my Mesa Boogie Mark V on ebay to buy a Hagen :-)))

Well, technically, behind you in most instances. But hey, I can see where you were in the pecking order of your local prison

BROMANCE ON!!!

I have tried the D moll, Herbert, Hagen and VH4 two weeks ago... Herbert has bit more headroom than the dmoll and you can hear some minor differences in the tone...
However the D moll is very close to the Herbert. The D moll has the Midcut as well but the herbert is a bit more versatile... So the question is ; do you mind sharing the 3 band eq for channel 2 and 3 ?
If not then go for the D moll and save yourself a few hunded quit.
That 's what I did.. I put the deposit down for the d moll and cant wait to get it in my hands.... I ll post some videos as soon as I get it...It is a metal beast...
this way you have the chance to buy a Columbus and cab as well without the need to sell your house and your clothes to finance the whole rig.
I hope it helps,
Cheers

I can't speak for the Herbert, but the VH4 is tight, focused, and HEAVY. Everything you need for thrash metal :) James Hetfield uses one, and it's hard to argue with his legacy and tone, IMO.

I agree that most of the Herbert vids are mostly the mid-scooped chugga-chugga variety and they don't reveal much of the character of the amp. Not having access to the Herbert before I purchased it I was looking for videos that gave me a glimpse at the range of the amp. I like these video's, and they ultimately led to my purchase:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LztorP3LMyU

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oyx2IVqYHMo - skip to 9:50 for Herbert demo

There was also a Mark Day (ToneMerchants) video that showcased a rig he set up for Brad King. Great tones there too but I can't find that one anymore.

Just my 2cents
