I just read thru the manual a bit regarding the 3 position mode switch...does this switch also affect CH2?

The mode you have active on the channel 1 affects the dynamics of the channel 2. Basically the higher the gain of mode selected on channel 1 the more compressed is the sound of channel 2. It is a subtle difference but there is a difference.

yup. to me channel 2 felt the best when channel 1 was in mode 1. It was open and clear for rhythm sounds.

Dallas covered this in this demo. Very subtle and difficult to hear with camera audio but he explains it at least.

It is IMHO a great feature of this amp. When using ch2 I usually choose the ch1 mode that best suits my guitar and what I'm playing. This offers unbeatable tweakability especially for recording. A lot of people wonder if this is a bug or was thought...
I had a mesa boogie nomad where such thing also happened but it was a design bug that was latter corrected
I would say that with the Einstein this was thought to be like it is!?

Anyway it is a feature of this amp that I really like

I remember that and I think Peter said there was no difference but I could still hear it and it made me crazy.

Well, it is called Einstein. There were a million possibilities in his head as well as this head.
I swear I can hear mine breathing heavy at night in the other room.
