I have a Diezel Einstein 50W and connected my delay to the effect loop. It is a Boss DD-3 made in Taiwan, and I have tested both the serial and parallel effect loop.

I have an issue with my delay on channel 2 on high gain (noon) the delay gets very "zaggy" and add a significant amount of compression and noise to the signal. Strumming the E string at the 15th fret will produce a crazy delay sound. Sorry, but it is hard to describe the sound with words.

So, have any of you guys experienced problems with the Einstein effect loop?

Dear Jonas,
welcome to the forum

Don´t be confused, this is not the forum for Wilder Amplification.
You are right here on the Diezel forum ;)

We have a low level effect loop with -10dB on the noon
settings of the volume pots. We don´t have issues with
99% of all effect units since the loop is industrial standard
with the right levels and impedances. The send level is
adjustale with the volume knobs on each channel, the return
levels can be adjusted with the masters.

I have a Boss DD3 and it works flawlessly in the serial loop
and I cannot hear any very big difference soundwise.
The distortion should be occur first on the clean channel
because there is the biggest volume amount and less compression
on the notes.

Please check the battery or power supply on the unit.

Turn down the volume knobs on the Einstein and increase
the master volume level.

Try another pedal.

Please let me know if this helps.

Best,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the advice, but i still hear a distorted delay - i will try to record it and post it if it is possible to capture on my camera. I tried with a DD-5 with just a sligthly better result. I will try a Cabon Copy and the Replica and see if it makes any difference.

@Peter - Can you give some of your settings on the Einstein channel 2 with the gain at noon and a nice delay sound with the DD3 in the effect loop - I can't! Mine is gain=12, volume=9, treble=10, mid=1, bass=1, presence=3, deep=1 and master1=9 and up to 12 o'clock. The DD3 is level=9, feedback=10, time=11 and mode=800ms.

Your channel vol is probably too low, it acts like a "send" level and pedals need a bit more level than rack stuff.

Thanks for the tip about the volume. The problem is that I need to adjust my channel 1 and 2 to be equally "loud" in terms of volume (db) when swithing between the two channels. The gain on channel 2 contribute a lot to the volume, so I need to keep the (pre) volume down on channel 2 and crank it up on channel 1 to make it work. If I increase the (pre) volume on channel 2 to increase the "send" level of the effect loop it will get much louder than channel 1 when switching.... Or did I miss something (a second tip in the book of amp setting gems)?

UPDATE: I tested the setup with the TC Flashback delay which does NOT produce the distored delay - it is an awesome pedal.

I am not sure if it solve the problem in general, but only for the delay. I would like to ensure the right input level to my effect loop of the amp (please don't say rack!)

Can I combine the effect loops and run the delay in parallel and my modulation in serial (or the other way around) - or will just produce an absurd chaos of sounds. I can adjust the volume of the parallel loop, but I assume that is the OUTPUT volume and will not help for my "too-low-effect-input-signal"?
