Just wanted to say a couple things about my fraternal amp twins: The Herbert MK1 and Einstein 100w....holy crap, i don't know what it is but when i see my amps, they exhume authority and demand attention, and i love it! A few questions for the crowd out there, and for Peter specifically!

How easy is the mod on the einstein to channel switch between the clean, texas and mega modes (for someone with minimal amp experience)? I bought it from smdb and it came with switch doctor footswitch to do all that, but the einstein hasn't had the mod.

Peter - My LEDs on my herbert have gone out again (ch2, 3, mid cut and v2) any chance i can get some more of those or get pointed in the direction of some new ones?

Also, i know this is a minor thing, but one of the back panel black screws on the einstein is mismatched, and the OCD in me was wondering the specs of it or if i could get a replacement?

I know this is picky but when you have something great, you want everything to be perfecto!

Hello, I'm taking the liberty to answer on Peter Diezel's behalf:

The ch1 mode mod is not supported by Diezel. To get it done, you would have to get a professional technician to perform this task, as it might be too complicated for an inexperienced person. You can find technical infos on the internet.

The blue LEDs can be bought at electronic component stores like http://www.superbrightleds.com

Sorry to sound smart here (not my intention!): Screws (even metric) can be bought at most hardware stores. If you can not find it in your area, try online stores like "Bolt Depot" http://www.boltdepot.com/metric-fasteners.html

Kind regards,

Jens Kruse

PS: BTW whiskey can be bought at your local liquor store

if you are not into this everyday it's hard to know which exact led to buy. it would help him if you gave him a link to the exact led that fits. diezel customers want it to be original and perfect! ;)

the einstein mod is easy if you have experience in soldering and are not afraid messing around with high voltage amps: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=24857&hilit=unofficial

thanks to both of you! elfredoo, i think you understand me completely. With all respect Jens, when I buy a diezel amp for thousands of dollars (and am infatuated with them!), i want everything to be perfect, down to the nuts and bolts, literally!

The LED is 5mm with 20mA, should be translucient
but blue lightning.

The screws on the rear are M5 and on the bottom
M6 metric style.

Best,
Peter

I am going to buy the metric M5 and M6 screws with washers in bulk. The same for the LEDs and other spareparts like fuses.

Please let me know exactly how many of each you need and I will send them to you.

I will make an announcement on this forum soon, since there seems to be an urgent need to supply customers in the US.

Kind regards,

Jens Kruse
