Hey CoryOB.
I think sometimes Einstein doesn't get the cudos he deserves on here, Peter did design him to be a guitarists best friend you know?
Einstein can get you all the modern rock tones you desire, has a lead channel to die for and also has perhaps the best clean sound I have ever heard. Saving the best for last, mode 2 on Ch 1, the Texas mode is the most responsive crunch channel I have ever played through in my life. Its too good to be honest. Find that I can do a very varied cover set just on this Channel and the guitars vol control. Add two Master Volumes, no need for MIDI footswitch and its a great versatile amp which suits a working guitarist unbelievably well. 50W is LOUD (and of course you have 100W option) and not overkill of 180W found in Herbert. Okay so we don't have the Mid cut but we don't pay Herbert dollar either.
Okay I am biased of course as I own an Einstein, but I can tell you I have played semi-pro for 25 years now and its hands down the best sound I have ever had. Not just me telling me that either. The amount of guitar players I know who have seen me and just can't believe the tone I am getting from a 1 x 12 combo....
You makes your choice bud but don't write Einstein off. Check some of the Vids on You Tube, thats what sold me on getting one in the first place.
ROCK on!!!
