Diezel Herbert blown Tubes 3&4

Hi Folks!

Yesterday my Tubes went dead(including Fuse and main Fuse). I am using currently 6550s. Should I stick with those and buy 2 new ones or would you recommend others eg. EL34,6l6and buy a pair of those?

I would go with KT77's and re-bias, they sound awesome to me.

In all honesty, you can't go wrong with 6L6, KT77, El34, etc... in a Diezel

I totally and positively agree.

However, I'd only strongly suggest that "All Elite Diezel" owners stay very far and clear away from the JJ ECC803S!

They blow HUGE stinky chunks of smegma, big time . . .

So you're saying that Diezel's 1st choice of power tube is 'crap'?

Also, I asked Peter about the JJ E34L back in the day, as I used to run them in an old Peavey XXX after I upgraded its screen resistors. With a lot of success I might add. Made an otherwise shite amp sound half-decent.
However, Peter said they weren't a very reliable tube & wouldn't recommend them.

Also, I 'think' all Diezels come loaded with JJ preamps aswell. ie the 12AX7, ie the JJ ECC83S.

So what you are essentially saying here is that the entire stock tube set currently recommended BY Diezel for Diezel amps, is both 'crap' & 'blows'.
