Diezel Herbert 180 W Head

One of the first pieces. Serial number is: 001/01X
Mint condition. The only reason of sale: I need a white one! :lol: :LOL: :rock:

Hmm... I wonder will you be as happy with the newer ones? Often there are some very special tonal characteristics in the protypes and other "first round" units which some people just love and are sometimes dissapointed with later production models - Though I have no idea whats the case with this particular Herbert 001/01X.

My point here being that re-tolexing is not very difficult procedure and if you are not trusting your own skills it does not cost too much as a service either.

Well, Budapest to Dillingen or Bad Steben might be an ~8 hour drive but have you considered shipping it and just asking the Diezels guys to service the amp, maybe update it to newer specs if you are looking for that and make it white for you? Or just order a white head shell from them instead?
 
Why update to newer specs ? That is one of the tightest and most brutal Diezel's ever produced. Way more attack and very percussive. If you want more sag, get a newer Herbert.
 
Well said. I would give it a complete service but don´t change it soundwise.

This unit is among the most unforgiving amps available.

White head shell only available with metal "D" grill.

Is this unit the same as all Mk1's that followed or was there a change after this unit?
