Diezel Herbert + ?????

I'm sorry but at the moment there is not enough time to post it in englisch! ;)

Hey Leute!
Ich spiele momentan einen Diezel Herbert mit ner ESP M-II (EMG81). Ich überlege schon seit längeren wie ich den sound etwas interessanter machen kann. Vorallem feiner und voller! Ich weiss viele werden jetzt sagen feiner und voller geht nicht, ist halt wieder die Diskussion mit dem Kompressor :D .
Also bevor jetzt die ganzen Fragen zu meiner Musikrichtung beantworte hab ich hier nen Clip für euch :) Ich + meine Band. Der amp steht leider nicht im Bild da er durch mich und die PA verdeckt wird :( Und der live sound ist momentan nur der rohe amp.

Also um wieder zu dem + ????? zurück zu kommen: Ich dachte das man den amp evtl mit ner ganz leichten Kompression dichter macht. Evtl. Keeley Compressor? :confused: Oder vllt leicht mit nem Maxon Overdrive anzerren so wie die Jungs von White Chapel das machen? :confused: Oder nen Tubescreamer? oder... oder...
Ich bin gerade einfach nur verwirrt, weil man zu allem soviel negativ Meinungen liest :aww:

Habt ihr Ideen oder schon erfahrungen was man so machen könnte?

the last thing I'd use with a herb would be the compressor or the tubescreamer.. with the style you guys play a peavey valveking with a ts808 boosted in front would sound the same in live situation I think..

when I tried the herbert, I thought just the opposite - I thought it sounds just too full and too lowmid heavy which caused the head to get lost in the mix quite easily even with mids full and bass on 0 (with me being the only guitarist in band, i cant imagine there would be the 2 of us) .. i thought the herb sounds too compressed to even think of getting a tubescreamer of some sort or to use a compressor.. your biggest enemy of your own self is your right hand.. once you get it sorted out, you wont need a compressor or booster.. just my 2cents :)

You're not that helpful as I thought. I do not have the money to buy all these things at the same time. And I asked if there are other ideas or what the diezel users think of combining these things. Go for it is just a cant...
 
try playing with the gain and treble knob:
higher gain and lower treble
lower gain and higher treble
etc

Be carefull not to use tomuch bass and dont set the deep know to high.
Ive also wonderd about using a boost with the herbert, lets say on ch. 2 minus but havent done it yet, dont have a boost pedal :lol: :LOL:

BTW, i used to be a emg guy but whent passive. With the herbert i feel that emg's dont mix so well. Try a guitar with different pickups and play with the eq.
 
From my experience a boost can be really nice (I know that most people here dont use them).
I have a Maxon OD808 to push my Ibanez with BKP Holydiver a little harder and this thing rocks.

As mentioned before, dont overload your sound with too much bass/deep (I have my deep at 10.30 oclock).
The Herbert has such a uge amount of bass that your bass player will get lost :D
Seriously. I am in a 2 guitar band and setting the bass too high will not make you sound fuller and fatter,
but you will sound undefined in that mix.
 
okay i think i got what you meant :)
i know the problem with the emg i would like to have some BKP that would be freaking awesome but their price is amazing too :D
the good thing about the maxon (in my opinion) is that it ads a few mids :)

Has anybody some experiences with the BKP Aftermath???
 
I had bkp before, warpig set alnico. I really didn't like the pickups, I couldn't test them and went with the hype. This is something personal, but please try pickups out before you buy or don't get it. I find that the Herbert takes passive pickups far better, but that's just me.

It took me some time to leave emg's but I've never looked back. Do check some sd's and dimarzios, I also liked the pickups in the evh guitars with the herbert, to bad they don't make them for seven string guitars

It could also be that a other cab would project surtan freq better, even strings, I'm still trying different ones out.
