Hey guys Im thinking real hard about moving on from a Triple Recto to a VH4 and have a few questions.
I have a AxeFxII that I would like to use for all my F/X's, will the AxeFx play nicely with the loops on the VH4?

The other question I have is would I be able to control all the channel switching and what not on the VH4 with my MFC 101, I would assume I could do it like this, MFC101 into the AxeFx via CAT 5 cable then from the MIDI out on the AxeFx to the MIDI in on the VH4.

Thanks for looking!!!

It will all work perfect with the VH4. One of the best loops on an amp. Before you throw down on a standard VH4, you might want to check out a VH4S first, if you can find one. The stereo FX capabilities of the AFX would really shine. Either way, the VH4 has a serial/parallel option with a front panel return for the parallel loop. As for control, the 7 or so MIDI control functions of the VH4 operate on program changes, so you should have plenty of capability with the MFC101 controller.

Im curious to know if the Cat5 cable would actually send MIDI information to the VH-4, interesting question...

The loops on the VH-4 are absolutely stellar, it has an individual loop for EACH channel, a dedicated serial loop, and a MIDI switchable parallel loop, seriously my ONLY gripe I've ever had with the VH-4 is that I wish the switchable loop was serial, but other than that, it's my favorite amp of all time... mine will be here Thursday... gonna try and hold on to this one!

yeah, what Steve said....and make the move from the Recto...the world needs more doorstops!!!

Thanks Steve and I would go serial because You can use dynamic effects
like compressor or noise gate in cause of ground loops.

The MFC101 hooks up to the AxeFx via the Cat5, from the midi out on the AxeFx to the midi in on the VH4 would be how I would think I could use it.

Thanks guys for all the input!

One more question, do you guys think the VH4 would sound good with a Tone Tubby loaded Mesa Recto cab?
