Digging the hell out of this unit. Running it straight up in front of the Wizard MTL with a couple of factory presets. Watch out for a big pedal sell off.

Whoever turned me onto this - thank you!

I am impressed with what I have been hearing about the rp1000 on here. Never would have thought.

GreazyGeo is the one usually pumping this. You are running factory patches (with delay, etc) into a gain channel?

Dude! Ive been talking about this with a few people including George! It's funny how this stuff catches on and when it catches on!!

I will probably grab one since the TC Electronic G System didn't work out for me. The G sucks tone and modulation belongs before the preamp.

It's a great unit and very easy to program. You wont have to dick around with it for a long time in order to get a good sound out of it.

how does this compare to the tc nova system. I believe they are close in price.

Yep its a surprising unit. I was fully looking way up higher in the $$ range. It's great and easy to use.

The only niggles I have with it are, wish it would do IR's and some features have to be adjusted using the software editor. And the software doesn't work on my macbook. Not deal breakers at all, but those would be awesome!

My pedal board looks like it was hit by some kind of space-ray evaporator....there are craters in it now.

I think you are spot on! I also wish that they added Midi but can see why they didn't because if they did that no one would but the GSp1101 and optional footswitch.

I think this is an awesome piece of gear and I can't wait to see what they release at NAMM

Yep, been thinking of doing this myself. My input jack is crapping out on my GNX3, so I've been thinking about replacing it. Tried one out at gc. Lots of features and easy to use. If the 4CM works like you guys say it does, I could be having a major sell off.

4cm works like a champ!

I did a show using the 4cm with the RP1000, a Marshall 2205 and a 2x12 and it crushed. You can switch between your amp and digital models seemlessly and the efects are really good and you wont need an engineering degree to get what you want out of the effects lol. great piece of gear and it wont break the bank. Hell, I got mine cheaper then most pedals go for these days and the unit replaced a whole pedalboard I had lol

That's what get's me. They going for 250 used at GC. I paid 170 for my last pedal. I actually practice and learn songs with the GNX3. That's why it really makes sense for me to replace it before the GNX completely craps out. I couldn't really get it to work for me in a live situation. Sounds like this will be perfect. The GNX wasn't that convincing with low and midgain tones either. But George gets some killer plexi tones and they react well with the volume knob. That's where most of the inexpensive modelers are lacking IMO.

I agree with you 100%. All of the modelers I have played have been able to do the gained out tones no problem but the Mid gain tones almost always blow unless you get a higher end unit. If you take the time to tweak the Rp just right there are some killer lower to mid gain tones in it...Or you could just ask George to share his and save an assload of time :D

Twice this weekend I had my finger on the trigger and backed off. I still have my gsp12legend pro with foot controller... Every demo I hear of this thing sounds like a bunch of the same old bunch of unusable presets. Are there any decent demo's of this thing somewhere?

With the RP1000, can you run delay/reverb in your amps loop and run OD etc...in front of amp? Can it be split or do you have to run all effects in front of amp or in loop?

I don't think you can use the Nova in a 4CM setup, that's a deal breaker for me. Put it this way, I dumped the G-System and may pickup the RP1000. The G System really takes a lot out of your amps tone and you can't use the modulation effects before the preamp, those are 2 things that kill it for me. The G-System is really better as a MIDI channel switcher, but it's a lot of money for a unit with some big time drawbacks.

Yes you can run verb/delay in the loop and Od's out front. They have the diagram of it's routing in the manual online. With the modulation you can run it pre or post. There's also a pedal loop which is nice to have. One thing the G-System does have is 4 loops. So on the RP you may still have to do a little tap dance if you want to use a few of your favorite pedals with it.

aha! sounds like a winner. the 4cm doesn't bother me that much since the amp I have now has no loop, but when I get an amp with a loop, the 4cm is what I would do.

Dumping the gsystem for the rp1000 does tell me alot about both units though. thanks

Someone asked earlier, comparing this and the M9?
I've got an M9 thread goin, id lean towards line 6 vs RP for effects, but if this is cheaper, and has the same quality....?! :aww:

And! Will these work in a Soldano loop?
