which do you prefer in the neck position of a thin/trebly sounding guitar?

Haven't tried the AN-s, but the lil'59 isn't very fat sounding. More like a fat-ish single coil than a humbucker. I'd like to try out an AN-s myself in my RG 560, because I love the full size AN in an RG. I used to have a 507 with the "Petrucci-setup", and the Steve's special was a disappointment, but the AN was wonderful. I've been contemplating a 7-string version for my Schecter as well.

Duncan - Hot Rails
DiMarzio - Air Norton S or Fast Track 2

Which is thicker air norton s or fast track 2? also which fat/thick bridge humbucker will match well with the air norton s?

The Fast Track 2 should be thicker, but it's a very high output pickup. As far as bridge humbuckers go, I'd probably pair either of them up with a Crunch Lab, mainly because I'd like to try that pickup out myself.

how about air norton S in the neck
and either Anderson H3 or Suhr SSH+ or MCP Afwayu?
which would be thicker?

The Afwayu will be thicker sounding than both the H3 and Suhr Aldrich, for sure. I know a few guys who even found the Afwayu TOO thick and bassy.

The H3 isn't so much a fat sounding pickup, but more of a heavily mid loaded pickup with a lot of output. It's a little more compressed than the Aldrich IMO.

Steer clear of the Little 59 in the neck, it sounds like a hum cancelling single coil. I hated the Little 59. The Air Norton is a smoother and warmer sounding pickup for sure.

I personally would recommend checking out the Suhr Aldrich neck humbucker, although it's full size humbucker, not a singlecoil size. But it's one of the most warm and smooth sounding neck pickups i have ever used. It has that singing sustain, like you hear in both John Sykes and Doug Aldrich's neck pickup tones. Simply awesome, and it works perfect with both the H3 or the Aldrich in the bridge position!!

I had a Fast Track and currently have Lil 59 in my Alder body MII

Fast track was decent, sounded pretty good distorted but to twangy with the cleans for me..
The 59 I currently have sounds thin and weak dont like it at all...

I was considering the Air Norton but Now I am more interested in the BC1 Billy Corgan neck pickup...
